Winch Mount,
November 18, 2008
By EMS714from Parsons,Tennessee
"I purchased the Curtis Winch Mount for a special project. This was the only one I could locate that would meet my needs to complete my project. I used the winch mount to mount a 3000 lb pull winch on a 6 X 4 John Deere Gator for which I am making a quick conversion medical transport vehicle to get to a patient in very ruff terrain who is injured and needs medical care and transport. This unit of course has all other bells and whistles to include a MedBed. The winch mount plate is a 2 inch receiver and can be used on the front or rear for pulling in either direction,or can be used on a totally different vehicle. The Curtis winch mount plate was very easy to work with to get everything to fit just right. When I found the winch mount on Northern Tool web site it was very easy and quick to complete the order. Once I purchased the Curtis winch mount, Northern Tools were very fast in getting it shipped to me. Thanks again for providing me with the product I needed to help me continue to complete my project."

NOT A SOLID SHAFT,
November 14, 2008
By RayRay0
"I bought this product because another person stated that the product he ordered was made with a solid shaft. Modle number 142701is what I received and it does NOT have a solid shaft. This product will most likely work with a winch of 8k pounds or less, but I feel I will bend it if I use it with my 12k winch on my F350 4x4. I am in the tree service industry and can not afford to second guess my equipment!"

Solid Hunk of Steel,
August 11, 2008
By Anonymous Reviewerfrom Santa Fe, NM
"I chose to purchase the Curt #142701 winch mount instead of fabricating one myself. I was pleasantly surprised at how sturdy this mount turned out to be. What you can't see in the photo is the pair of support struts welded onto the reciever tube that reinforce the winch plate. Although I will have to redrill the mounting holes in order to fit my older model winch, it is a good solid start, and it's already powdercoated! Good value for the price."

Winch mount,

"Upon receiving this mount I noticed that it is very well built with heavy welds and thick protective coating to guard against rust. The tray is made of thick steel and large enough to hold about any winch I can imagine. Very nicely done!"

Curt Mfg. Winch Mount,

"When I ordered this I was afraid that at this price this mount would be a piece of junk. Well let me tell you, this thing is a seriously beefy piece of equipment. It works great and it cost way less than other mounts I'd looked at."

Winch Mount,
March 7, 2007
By oicurn2rpms2from Laotto, IN
"The winch mount is built very well. It comes with a thick plate to mount the winch to and a choice of holes. The shank that slides into the receiver is solid (not hallow like other brands). Since there are only two pieces, there is only one point that is welded ( which is an excellent weld). On top of all of that, the entire product has thick paint. I found only one down fall. The front area made for the furled metal isn't tall enough for the style that came with my winch. I had to modify it."
