A good partner in New Hampshire,
November 19, 2009
By Bobsled
"This is the winch I've been looking for. The price was right and it seemed suited for what it's main purpose was to be. I have five acres of land next to my home where there were many ice-storm damaged trees. Some of them were still quite tall so the ability to pull a tree in the right direction was important so they wouldn't get hung up on good trees.
I put the winch, chain, cable and a fully charged boat battery into my yard cart and go to the tree. I could use my car and its trailer hitch in some cases but so far that hasn't been necessary. I bought the optional snatch block and it has taken a lot of stress out of this job.
It's not real fast, but for the money it would be hard to beat.
Winter will be here soon here in central NH and I'm sure it will come in handy for other things too.

"I use this winch to load and unload my 24 foot pontoon boat and pull up my dock for the winter. It is the best purchase
I could have made. It is very affordable, portable and more powerful than imaged. I have used the winch for many other applications as well and it's never failed to complete the job at hand. I would recommend it highly for a variety of applications where portability is required. It's a great addition to my tool box.

Well worth the price,

"I wanted to get some tree tops closer to the logging road to cut up for firewood. With all the rain we've had my full size pickup got stuck in the mud and I couldn't move it. The very first time I used this was to pull that pickup out of the mud and it did it beautifully. After that I pulled four tree tops out. Well worth the investment. Oh, I purchased a battery to use independent of the truck battery and that worked great. Could move the winch where ever I wanted."

MASTERLOCK PORTABLE WINCH,
July 21, 2009
By Possumknot
from Southeast
"This is a negative review for this winch.
Plastic case is too fragile. Breaks to easily easily.,
Relay burn out when under a load for extended time, two or three times of use pulling 3/4 cable length.
Winch runs too slow."

Portable Winch,
July 14, 2009
By JWles
from Connecticut
"For the money, this little winch has done a great job for me. It does a good job of helping pull small vehicles from sticky situations. I have mounted it on my tractor and have used it to pull logs up hills and out out of the woods. I've attached it to trees and used it to persuade them exactly where I want them to fall when cutting.
The long remote control is great when you want to get up close to check on a load or get far enough away for safety.

"this little winch has come in more handy than I could of ever expected from pulling cars, and tool boxes on to my flat bed to being the best fence puller I have ever had, because of its size I am always finding new uses for it on my property."

Ice Storm Aftermath,
March 23, 2009
By cmdjd

"I had fifty-two trees uprooted or cracked. This winch while slow is very easy to use and performs as advertised. It has pulled all of them into an area where I can cut them to fire wood. Well worth the money. It has the advantage of pivoting to the right pulling angle on a hitch ball."

Master Lock Winch,

"This is an excellent winch.I use it to pull boats onto trailers & cars onto dollies. It hasn't let me down. This winch is worth what you pay for it. The only complaint that I have is that it should come with two mounting plates."

Wont be without!,
October 4, 2008
By icheap2

"I've had this little wonder for years and have used it on many jobs around the house. With the trailer hitch attachment it goes from vehicle to vehicle including my quad and 3 wheeler. Really haven't found anything it wouldn't pull. Speed isn't as important as being able to move things so this unit is the one I will replace if it ever dies."

Excellent for its specifications,
August 18, 2008

"I bought this winch to load a small race car into a closed trailer. It has proven to be an excellent choice. It's compact design and detachable mounting plate make it very convenient to mount and store when not in use.
On the negative side for my personal use I would prefer shorter battery leads about 5 ft vs. 10 ft, and longer control leads up to 20 ft. to be closer to the load I am moving."
