Affordable quality,

"I've used this welder extensively over the last year in the restoration of a classic auto. Feed and heat controls are subtle enough for the sometimes delicate process of welding thin sheetmetal without blowing holes. I was really impressed by the quality appearance of the electronics inside this machine. It is a well crafted piece of equipment and even with the extras thrown in the package, it's not much more than half the price of a comparable Miller. The included auto darkening helmet, which I thought would be a throwaway item has served me well over the year that I have been using it. The cart as well has been perfectly sufficient for my needs. The instructional video is short but still helpful to a novice like myself. It's good to be able the hear the sound of a proper weld. This tape, combined with the written instructions, were sufficient enough to get me started. The included gauges and regulator made the transition from flux welding to gas coreless welding very easy. This is a very complete package and I highly recommend it"

Great Value!,

"A friend showed me how to weld on his Hobart, was going to purchase one but when I did some research this one seemed fine for what I needed, plus it was a little cheaper. I was a little apprehensive because of that name brand stuff, but so far this unit has been great!!"

"I bought this welder two years ago and love it. I did have a problem with it at first and it has a a few things i don't like about it 1. the cooling fan was bent during shipping and was not turning, so it over heated and shut off. (bent the fan back and everything is great) 2. the control handle cord is to short and you must move the welder around a lot to weld on bigger jobs.
For the price the welder is great, i have used welders 3 times the price and i like this one just as much. I have welded lawnmowers, lawn furniture, trailers and have made several custom made off-road bumpers with it."

A lot of bang for the buck,
November 17, 2008
By Anonymous Reviewerfrom Leominster, Ma
"I was a bit skeptical of a brand that is not all that well known in this country. I am an ASE certified mechanic and on many occasions I have sworn that I will never buy anything but the "best" tools ever again because of a tool letting me down or just being poorly designed....but I'm a pretty practical guy so the price of this unit made me curious. It is a lot more affordable than a comparable welder from the big name brands. I decided to give it a shot and I'm glad I did.
I don't weld professionally, but I do weld often enough to get annoyed with sub-par equipment. I have owned 3 welders and used quite a few others over the years and most have been adequate, but as far as compact/shop units go this one takes the cake. For common materials and tasks such as sheet metal, pipe, plate, channel and angle this machine makes the process easy. It runs a very smooth bead and the adjustments are simple and accurate. The auto darkening helmet that came with the welder is very good too.
I think the 220 volt machines are worth investing in. I have owned a 110 volt wire feed welder and it just didn't have the consistency that this machine does. I used another big name 110 wire feed welder that I felt the same way about.
I run inert gas, i don't know what this machine runs like with flux-core wire. The video that came with the kit appears to have been made in 1970 or so, but it does offer a couple of very good pieces of information. The cart could be better, but it is adequate for light use.
All in all for the average guy you won't be disappointed with this machine, it is money well spent. Make sure you plan on installing a proper power outlet for this machine and plan on getting a long heavy duty extension cord built if you intend to roll this unit around the shop."

Great and easy to use,

"I had never welded before I purchased this welder. I am rebuilding a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle and wanted to do my own body work. I bought it because of the good reviews that I have read about it. This welder is very easy to set up and use. I have not used the gas conversion yet but plan to as my skill improves."
