A great welder at a great price,
April 24, 2008
By dieselguyfrom Chicago
"This welder does just about anything you could possibly need around the home and then some. I've used it on just about everything and it works great. Its smaller then the 220v units and much more portable because you can use it almost anywhere. It is also great for really thin metals, something not all the larger units can do as well. I highly recommend the unit. No disappointments here."

"I have not had this welder very long but it appears that it is a great welder. When I first got it I forgot to reverse the polarity for using argon gas and I was a little disapointed in the performance. My suggestion (read the instructions) I think this welder would make a great addition to anyones shop and the portability is fantastic. It is light and does a great jop welding. Would recomend it to my friends and family."

"This welder does what it was made for very well. It is portable, easy to use and easy to maintain. We use compressed gas with it so the cart comes in handy. You can throw it in the truck with no help and you can plug it in almost anywhere. We used it to build a 26ft aluminum bridge which the welder is capable of doing but I wouldn't reccommend trying if you've never welded aluminum before."

Compact and Efficient Welder,
November 20, 2008
By Darlafrom Mesquite, TX
"The Hobart Handler 140 MIG Welder is a compact and efficient machine. The user can employ the Hobart Handler in many areas of work because it is not cumbersome to move. It is extremely efficient in that it is usable on many types of stainless, aluminum wires and solid mild steel materials.
This machine can be used with or without shielding gas. It has a 10 ft. work lead with a clamp, power cord and 8 inch wire spool adapter, too.
The warranty on the Hobar Handler 140 MIG Welder is particularly attractive and the fact that it is made in the U.S. A. is even better!
This machine is built to perform multiple welding needs. I would highly recommend this product to anyone needing an efficient, solidly built welder."

Hobart Handler 140,
November 19, 2008
By Instrumentmakerfrom Urbana, IL
"I have used this welder and it is very easy to use. I have been welding for 25 years in my job, but a first time user will have no problems in using this welder. The manual explains the operation of this welder, so even a novice can understand MIG welding. The welder requires simple assembly of the torch cable, all explained by the manual. A new owner will be running beads of weld in no time. It will weld 22 ga. to 1/4" steel, which should cover all the welding a person should need for most work or repairs. It will run off of 115 volt power, a 12 guage extension cord can be used if you are not near a power source. I would highly recommend this welder. You can't beat the price for the quality you are receiveing, and a 5 year warranty is more than the competitors offer."

hobart 140,
November 19, 2008
By magnum60from Jackson, MS
"I have owned a 140 for 3 years and have used it for many fabrication projects. I have run many beads on very thin (22 gauge) steel using .035 wire and welded with complete penetration 1/4" galvanized angle using .030 flux core. I prefer Weldmark wire and I have had no problems with feed in this welder. I have recently used this to build welding tables for a commercial welding shop - and I am just a busy hobbiest."
