"I bought these gloves about 2 weeks after buying my Hobart 140. I welded with regular gloves and ended up burning my hands a couple times. Wore these after I bought them and man what a difference. They block all the radiant heat from the weld pool and make it much more pleasurable. I can do longer beads now without my hand getting hot as the dickins. Would definately buy again - they seem to hold up well too, so I dont think I will need another pair for a while - but when they do wear out - I will buy another set from Northern."

"Can't believe how comfortable these gloves are and they aren't bulky or hard to hold on to objects with. The protection from heat is great and I really like the length of the glove protects your wrists as well. Would recommend anyone who welds to own a pair or two."

Excellent for SMAW - stick welding,

"I generally weld 1/4" thick carbon steel with 85 amps DCEP stick welding. This welding generates more heat than other types of welding. Thick gloves that are durable, protect your hands, and provide dexterity are critical. I've been so happy with these gloves that I have purchased another pair of these gloves as a backup. The kevlar stitching really works. I have had my hands so close to the workpiece while welding that my hands are very hot, but they are still protected and the stitching does not fail."

very good gloves,

"The gloves are high quality and the palm and the fingers surface is very smooth leather - almost like patent leather smooth, but you can grip things wearing the gloves.
You can't pick up something "red" hot while wearing the gloves of course, but you can handle items that are pretty hot. The good feature about them is the cuffs on the gloves - I don't know how many times I have set my own shirt cuffs on fire from welding sparks.
My hands aren't all that large and these gloves are VERY tight. I would say, that if your ring size is over about 12 these gloves will not fit you at all (my ring size is ten and one-half)"

Very High Quality,

"Have not had a chance to use them yet but tried them on and they are very thick to protect your hands and the stiching is very high quality. Also they look tough and will last many years.
If you have large hands (very large) i would not recomend these to you.
They fit like a large sized work glove."
