"This welder has been very easy to use. I have not done much tig welding before, I caught on quickly and have been making good welds since. Setup was easy, all you need to add is argon and you are ready to go. It is also one of the better stick welders I have used."

Hobart TigMate,
November 17, 2008
By VideoWallBrucefrom Boonton, New Jersey
"I bought this welder primarily for delicate aluminum work. Prior to using it, I had a few questions, so I called Hobart. They were helpful, but couldn't answer questions about the TIG Torch. Hobart gave me the number for the torch manufacturer, who told me what I needed to know. Welder setup was quick and painless, so I connected my Argon tank, and was off and running on some 1/8" aluminum. Power was good, steady, and easily controlled with the fingertip controller. The weld was excellent, and the machine ran cool and quiet. I've since worked on galvanized sheet, stainless, and even did a little arc welding on mild steel. All worked out well. This welder weighs a little more than you may expect, so make sure you put it on a good cart."

Good TIG Welding Machine,

"I have been a pipe welder for 34 years and recommend the Hobart TIGMATE AC/DC Stick and TIG Welding Package. The Fingertip Control works great for thin metal. It's a very portable machine and does the job of a machine that cost more at the welding supply."
