Choose between AC or DC output to expand your welding options. The LX 235 AC/160 DC has a maximum of 235 AC and 160 DC weld output. Smooth DC weld performance with easy arc starts is easily adjusted with the Accu-Set infinite amperage control. Weld time also increases up to 100% with decreased output, with the Accu-Set infinite amperage control. Less spatter and greater control on thin materials plus easier out-of-position welding. U.S.A.

Real do-it-yourselfers WELD!,
April 14, 2008
By BAM1from Atlanta, Ga
"This is a super welder. We wanted something portable but not limited to 230 volts in case that was not available. The AC/DC option also lets you weld with extreme accuracy. According to the instructions there is also a wire welding uplift option. This covers ALL the bases. I strongly recommend getting the wheel package for added mobility."

"The Hobart Stickmate, has been a real plus for this person with limited welding experience. I am able to move it around by myself, and It has a very finite heat adjustment, which makes setting up and welding with this product a breeze."

good little welder,
November 20, 2008
By shane666from Reno, NV
"Its a powerful little machine and compares with bigger and more expensive welders. it has already paid for itself in all the jobs i have used it for. i am very pleased with this welder. The only problem i had with it was the shipping, it took northern tool a couple of months to get me one that wasn't damaged."

Wonderful Welder,
November 19, 2008
By FastDavefrom Jonesboro, AR
"I have owned my Stickmate for almost 10 years. I've been able to do so much more than I had ever imagined. I do ALL my own repairs now! Things I once had to take to a repair shop or even buy replacement parts for are now easily repaired in the convenience of my own shop! I recently had a ball joint bust out on my riding mower and instead of stopping the job immediately I was able to weld it back together and it lasted the rest of the Summer. I ordered a new ball joint and had it waiting but the weld continued to last and last. I believe it's because of the penetration my Stickmate achieved during the welding process! I couldn't have asked for anything better. I'm also able to do any of the fabrication jobs I once only wished for. Things I once bolted together, like metal shelving, are now welded together. We all know welding rods are less expensive than nuts, bolts & washers PLUS the weld holds better! I don't know how I ever made it without my Hobart Stickmate Welder!!! Well, actually I didn't "make it"... someone else did it for me!"

Excellent machine,

"You could find a better welder but not at this price. I've used it for everything building a thin tube frame to welding a cracked truck frame back together. Had it for about 3 years now. Not a lick of trouble. The only thing I changed was putting longer leads on to make it easier to work in the garage. PIcture shows shows it with short leads."

Full service welder,
November 18, 2008
By LarryNEKfrom Northern , Vermont
"We have a shop at our Waste Water Plant that maintains all sorts of equipment from pumps to line trucks. We need a fullservice welder and the Stickmate LX235 fulfills all our needs. The DC option gives us more flexibility for vertical and over head welding. It has been a real asset to our shop."

Nice Machine,
November 18, 2008
By SparkTXfrom Texas
"I am a home hobby welder and would definitely recommend this unit to anyone. It is very versatile and reliable. The only thing I would recommend is that considering the DC option adds quite a bit of expense to the unit over the AC only LX235, that Hobart could upgrade the relatively light duty ground cable and lengthen both welding cables. Otherwise a wonderful machine."
