Arrived as a mess, but ended up as a great buy....,
September 5, 2009

"Boxes arrived completely destroyed when we got the trailer last month. Probably due to the original manufacturer's packaging or UPS shipping (or both) but miraculously everything was there down to the last bolt. Called Northern to see how to handle the state of the goods that arrived and they were very supportive: "call us if anything is missing and we will replace it...." fortunately didn't need to take them up on it but they were very willing to work with me.
Scratches on a lot of the metal parts from the shipment, but I sorted that out with some touch up paint. After that prep work and counting out to make sure the components were there the assembly was pretty straightforward. Chose to assemble the trailer to be folded up and it's worked like a charm since being out on the road behind my jeep. Solid on the road and except for one wiring issue that I needed help with (which was due to the jeep, not the trailer) it's been a great project for my 11 year old son and I to build. Took us the better part of a full weekend to build the frame, cut wood, stain, bolt down the base and build the sides, but we were building the trailer along with a couple of other tasks around the house.
Some items to be aware of: Wiring is simple, but to another reviewers point you have to be careful to leave enough slack wire if you want to fold up the trailer. There are pinch points that catch the wiring and tear the insulation on the wires up at the point where you lower the tongue for storage if you are not careful. Also it's important to note that you will need someone elses help to safely unfold and fold up the trailer. Once you put a decent plywood base on the trailer it will be heavy.
Handles well on the road, takes up very little space in the garage when folded. Perfect for runs to the dump, camping, carrying the bikes and other general tasks. You won't be disappointed and the value for this little trailer is exceptional."

"I got this before my PCS move from Jacksonville, NC to Portsmouth, VA. I installed the floor and railing my self with ease the only problem is i cant fold it right now for storage coz of the railing. This trailer is awsome. For now im using it for hauling but i have plans in building and use it as base for a teardrop trailer.
This trailer is made for 08 Scion XD."

Great value, See my recommendations though...,

"This is my second one as I am retiring my first after about 8 years.
Excellent light duty trailer that I use every week (even in the winter) to haul the trash, have moved firewood and am very popular with the relatives when they need furniture picked up. Just stay within the load limit and you are all set. It tracks very well and can be moved by hand for short distances if you have special parking restrictions.
I live in a cold climate and road salt is an issue. The reason I retired the first trailer was from rust in the tong area. Only other issue I have had is one wheel bearing that failed (went dry) after about 6 months but that must have been a bad seal as the other has not failed. (check and grease every year).
Some Suggestions:
1. If you live in a high salt area, I would highly recommend adding an additional coat of rust-inhibiting paint before you assemble it. The trailer comes in pieces so this is pretty easy to do. Pay special attention to the front and tong assembly as salt is kicked up from the towing vehicle in the winter.
2. I wish they had not mounted the license plate assembly so low as it can get bent if you lift and move the trailer by hand.
3. Pay special attention to wire routing and use plastic tie-wraps where you can in place of the metal ones they provide. Also watch for pinch points if you intend to fold it for storage.
That's about it... on my second after many miles of faithful service so enough said."

Good Trailer,

"I use my trailer to haul motorcycles and a golf cart. The greatest feature is you can fold it up and store it out of the way. The only thing that could be improved is the caster wheels you roll it around on after folding it up. They are good on concrete and asphalt but would not work on soft surfaces."

Trailer that can make a difference.,

"A small portable trailer is what most two car garage owners want, and this one is perfect in both size and strength. Once a base is put down on the frame be ready to move everything from a small ATV to your cousin Louie's furniture. . .this trailer handles well and is easily maneuverable. The best part about owning it is the storage capability. With a low platform base, the trailer can be tilted up and stored against the inside or outside of a garage with just a few security hooks. You really can't go wrong."

"I bought this trailer to hall rainwater tanks and it has been great. Putting it together takes a day, but the size, price and versatility made it worthwhile. Being able to have sides or remove them helps. To fold it up and store it is a nice feature. Have it shipped freight. UPS had trouble destroying the boxes."

"I bought this trailer last December to haul my ATV around, and It works great. The assembly was very easy and all though the directions could be better it was not hard to figure out. It is a very sturdy trailer and the ride is smooth when loaded or empty. I recomend this trailer, and I would buy it again."

Excellent Trailer,

"This trailer is fantastic if you have limited space to store it. I fold it up and push it in the corner of the garage. It is very stable, but I recommend that you go over it a few times to check all of the bolts."
