Convenient & inexpensive solution,July 9, 2007

"Searched online for replacement inner bearing& seals for my trailer, the outer ones still being good. For the same $ or a little more I found this complete kit to do everything at once. Could be a little difficult for a novice mechanic, as driving bearings can be a tricky skill with possibility of getting it cocked or even seriously stuck in the hub resulting in damage to outer race or hub. Also one needs to be certain they are bottomed in the hub (was not as obvious in my hub resulting in some trouble for me). My only complaints were inconsistency in terminology in the instructions/chart causing some initial confusion. Also the dust caps were just a tiny (maybe .001" or so) larger than the originals, making them impossible to install. That's another tricky art to do without damage, but this is the first time I've had to reuse the originals. I compared them, sure enough, too big! I believe this to be the result of poor manufacturing tolerance. Oh well, the bearings/seals are the important thing!"
