Torin Work Cart SavesTime,
July 14, 2009
By GarageGuy99

"After looking around for a tool cart, I bought this little cart on sale at Northern and am very impressed with how quickly Northern shippped it to me and how the cart performs. The cart rolls smoothly and has plenty of space for the hand tools that I use everyday. This cart is a real time saver, instead of walking back and forth to my large tool box, I gather the tools needed for the work I need to do, load them on the cart and roll it to the job. Thanks Northern!"

Outstanding work cart,

"This work cart is just the thing for my shop. I put my most-used tools in it, and wheel it to my work. It was built with a heavier gauge steel than I had expected and was an outstanding buy. I did remove the two fold-out shelves and put my socket set on the top shelf for easy access. I was, as always, most pleased with my Northern Tool purchase. I'll be back for more."

Robust and sturdy,

"I bought this for personal use in my garage. It's a solid platform for your most regularly used tools when working on the truck; It helps reduce the number of round trips to the main tool cabinet for that 18mm socket. Assembly was straight forward, but the instructions were spartan and of little help. But if you are buying this for yourself and can't figure out how to assemble it, you probably shouldn't be allowed to own tools anyway. It has enough space in the upper foldout trays for all your sockets and the lower two drawer cabinet draws are deep enough for medium-size bulk tools. It comes with draw liners which is a nice touch and something Craftsman should consider. I bought the foam shadow board material to keep the sockets from rolling all around when moving the cart. The wheels diameter are large enough to surmount garage door thresholds and run smooth enough on a brick driveways. There is no working surface on the cart to place any part from what you are working on, unless you want to bend down and use the bottom open shelf. My preference is a seprate platform for vehicle parts to be placed on; I don't want greasy, oily, coolant dripping parts mucking up the tool cart. This is my first Torin purchase and likely not my last."

tool cart,

"I read the reviews on this cart and thought I would go look at it as it was on sale. I am an electronics installer so I have a lot of little parts like nutdriver bits and 1/4" sockets a long with some hand tools, etc. I first was worried about the sturdiness of the cart and the wheels. I agree with other reviews that I was surprised about how sturdy these items are. All my tools that I wheel up to the door of a vehicle fit in including some. I had used a cart I "designed" 10 years ago. It is now replaced and with a happy choice for someone who likes to have the tools they need at their fingertips and it locks! Downfall, if you use alot of hand tools and bigger sockets, step up to the bigger ones. This is perfect for someone who uses the smaller tools and parts. Wheels up perfectly. Good luck"

Easy to assemble & Great Work Cart,

"I believe for the price, you can't beat this cart. It is quality material and easy to assemble. I shifted my tools from a bench box to this cart and now have extra time when working on something. I don't have to go back and forth to the work bench because I take the cart to the item I am working on. It rolls around very easy and made of high quality metal. Glad I purchased this item."

"Exceptional quality for the price. Very sturdy and durable. A comaprable cart from Snap on or Mac at least $200.00 more in price just for a name."

Kust what I was loking for,

"The cart is great. The wheels are better than expected, fit and finish is better than expected.
The only negative I can find and the reason for 4 stars vs 5 is that the inner cascading parts holder does not fit well and takes up a lot of space, it's easily removed so not a problem."

As good as I hoped,

"Just received and assembled my new cart. Assembly is easy, even though the "instructions" are a bit meager. Twelve bolts (all of the same size) hold the unit together, so even without instructions anyone of the most modest mechanical skills should be able to manage. All tool storage areas come complete with no-skid mats, which I really like. There is also a mat for the top of the lid (nice), but no way to secure it to the metal. I tried double-stick adhesive, but it won't adhere to the underside of the rubber mat. Perhaps pop-rivets or some other mechanical fastener will do the job. The lower tool drawers work well, but I wish they were a little deeper. Some of my larger wrenches will not fit front-to-back, so a bit of storage space is wasted as I have to turn them sideways. The black crackle finish is attractive and looks like it will be durable. Wheels include one locking pair, which is handy. The wheels themselves roll a little bit stiff, but aren't too bad. The will probably improve with use. For the money, I can't complain - high-quality wheels are quite expensive. All in all, this is a very nice tool."
