Keeps me organized...,
November 23, 2009

"Unit is a bit flimsy until all the hardware is tightened up. Didn't find the need to buy different/stronger bolts. A bit of math for the shelf placement, along with a decent area to assemble and you are good to go. Highly recommend the bin dividers (additional) to complete organizing smaller items and best to put your heaviest items on the lower shelves. Great item for the price."

Scrap metal,

"I had to check the driveway for a spaceship after seeing the directions. When my wife and I finally put the rack together by braille, she wanted to know how much I paid for it. I have now had this product for over a year and I have one question. Can it go in the recycle bin?"

Lot of work,
November 3, 2009
By Ayesa

"Bins are nice and sturdy. Thought that the rack would have much better quality for the price, but it's very flimsy and needs a lot of assembly time. Even with all the nuts and bolts needed to put it together, it still wobbles. We finally just anchored it to the garage wall so that it doesn't flex. Probably better to buy a separate rack and put the bins on it."

Great accessory to the shop,

"If you have put a knocked down unit together like this one, you will understand:
1. need some work area on the floor to assemble.
2. most instructions for this type of unit are the best in the world.
3. will need 30-45 minutes to put together.
4. suggest (like some other reviews) anchor it to a wall, especially if you plan on handling some heavier parts.
5. once done - this unit is a wonderful asset to any shop or parts room. keeps things organized and neat.

Anchor it to the wall,
January 21, 2008
By sgford

"I purchased this unit a few months ago and found it to be easy to assemble although it was time consuming and needed a decent sized flat area to lay it out and assemble. Once assembled it is fairly sturdy, but i would recommend that it be installed next to a wall and if possible anchore it to the wall cross member to prevent it from tipping over. Once installed it makes a nice piece."

Storage Rack,
January 21, 2008
By Heatguy
from Detroit, MI
"The instruction sheet is terrible, but if you look closely at the picture you can determine the required shelf spacing and support bracket placement. Assembly was easy no problem with the bolts or bin dividers others have stated. I have enjoyed mine and recommend attaching to a wall. I would buy another one and recommend it to anyone."

could be better,
March 13, 2007
By JP111

"I purchased three units of these racks almost three years ago. And I just finished putting together another three units this week. Compariang the two purchases: the plastic bins are not quite as sturdy as they had been in the past. They're OK for relatively light contents, but I would not recommend loading them up with lots of metal or other heavy objects. The supplied hardware is a joke. The nuts fit 1/4" course threads, yet require a 10mm wrench to hold them. When assembling, don't think about tightening the nuts down with a wrench -- I broke quite a few of the slotted heads off of the bolts with only moderate screwdriver pressure alone. I recommend purchasing some 1/4" nuts and hex-head bolts from your local hardware store. To Quantum's credit, the shipping is a little better than previously. All three units were on one pallet and held firmly in place with strapping and shrink wrap. As noted by another reviewer, inspect the boxes containing the shelving very carefully. They dent easily. And if you don't note the damage on the shipping receipt at the time of delivery, you won't have much recourse other than grabbing a pair of sturdy pliers and a metal shaping hammer."
