"Just over a year ago I ordered the 254 with front end loader over the phone on a Tues. night. The next Sat. morning it was delivered, ready to drive off the truck. It came with many items I wasn't expecting (wheel weights, all 3 pt hitch hardware, tools, filters and more). It has performed flawlessly with slightly less than 200 hours so far. We had an 18 inch snowfall this past winter, and it cleared my 1/4 mile steep driveway , one pass down, one pass up, without spinning a wheel. I recommend installing a block heater (-) for starting in cold weather."

25 hp tractor and loader,
April 21, 2008
By sandpiperfrom MINNESOTA
"I PURCHASED THIS UNIT IN EARLY WINTER AND USED IT MOSTLY FOR HAULING FEED TO MY CHICKENS, IF THE TEMP WAS 20 DEG. F OR ABOVE IT STARTED, I HAVE A HOSE HEATER ON IT BUT DIDN'T ALWAYS USE IT. IT RUNS CLEAN AND IS EASY ON FUEL I HAD NO PROBLEM WITH OUR SNOW HERE IN MINNESOTA, WENT WHERE EVER I WANTED WITH THE 4WHL DRIVE. THIS SPRING MY SUN USED IT TO SCRAP SOME SOD FROM A SPOT HE WANTED TO PLANT SOME RASPBERRIES AND IT WORKED GREAT FOR HIM AS WELL. I DID BUY IT TO RUN SOME AUGERS AROUND THE FARM AND I HAVEN'T GOTTEN TO THAT CHORE YET BUT I EXPECT IT WILL DO THE JOB NICELY, I HAVE A COUPLE OF PLACES THAT ARE HARD TO GET INTO AND THIS SHORT COULPED TRACTOR SHOULD FIT IN THERE NICELY."

NorTrac NT25,
April 21, 2008
By Enochfrom Neshanic, NJ
"I needed a small-footprint, tight-turning, 4WD tractor to work a 20 acre woodlot. I bought a NorTrac NT25, and I've used it hard, clearing multi-flora rose with the bucket, lifting tree trunks to buck and pulling trunks from dense stands to clearer spaces for pick-up to the mill. I've used this tractor for some of the densest species in the north-east: black cherry; red, black and white oak; white ash; sugar maple and beech, and the machine hasn't let me down. The one service problem I did have - a steering knuckle I broke under an extreme load - was resolved quickly and efficiently by NorTrac's service people, with no more than about 24 hours down-time. I don't suggest using such a small tractor as hard as I do, but pound for pound, dollar for dollar, horsepower for horsepower, this one can't be beat."

Nortrac 254 with loader,
December 22, 2007
By RobRfrom Lawson, MO
"We have a small acreage and were looking for a compact tractor to replace our aging 60 year old one. After reviewing a number of compact tractors. We decided on nortrac. It was very reasonably priced and had all the features We were looking for, along with a reasonable warranty. I ordered the tractor on a Monday and it was delivered ready to use on Friday. It came with a tool box with spare parts and gaskets and an extensive manual. What the manual couldn't tell me a simple call to the service department answered all my questions. We received it just in time to do our last brushogging of the year. I was eager for our first snow storm and the loader, although a little slow until warmed, up kept our roads clear. adjustment on the 3 point hitch is touchy and takes some time to get it to where it raises and lowers at the speed you want. After 23 hours run time I still have not seen one leak on any of the hydraulic lines or engine and transmission. It has plenty of power to do most anything I ask. I am sure I could have bought a cheaper crate tractor. The few extra dollars was well worth the confidence of having the tractor assembled, checked out, and ready to use. A big plus for us was the backing of northern tool and their excellent reputation in the business. OH! yeah my wife thinks its pretty."

Nortrac 25Hp w/loader,
July 5, 2007
By jcm2007from Clay Center, KS
"I had been looking for several years for a new or used small tractor to use on our small acrerage to mow and maintain with. It seemed every tractor I saw was so outrageously priced. I was looking online and stumbled across the Nortrack line of small tractors. The price was extremely reasonable, compared to what I had seen before. This peaked my interest. I spent many hours researching this tractor. Much has been said about Chinese built tractors, the lack of quality, poor documentation, and unavailability of parts. I figured I was pretty mechanically inclined, and I felt like I was capable of working on this tractor. I called Northern tool and placed my order, on a Tuesday, and by Saturday I had my tractor. All with bargain financing. The shipping company even arranged for unloading the tractor when it arrived here in Kansas. I was so pleased with what I received. The size of the 25 horsepower tractor was just what I was looking for. Big and powerfull enough to attach many types of catagory 1 implements, but also small and maneuverable enough to go where I wanted to. I also recieved a tool box with some tools, oil and fuel filter, and parts like head gasket, valves, and seals. The owner's manual was failry detailed, with break in procedures, and service schedules and explainations. It also had parts diagrams included in the manual. This was certainly something I had not expected based on reviews by others owning an imported tractor. I have owned the tractor for several months now and have just finished the 10 hour maintanence. I had expected, from other reports, for the oils to dirty and sludgy. Quite the contrary. I have come to understand that Nortrac changes the oils, and tests the tractor in the assembly process. ( From my research, I believe it is important who assembles your tractor, as the quality of assembly will affect the leaks and loose parts you will have when you recieve your tractor.) Although I have had my tractor for a relatively short time, and have not used it aggressively, I have not so much as experienced a loose bolt. I am still impressed. Complaints? It is a small tractor, and getting into the seat, you will have to be somewhat nimble to maneuver around the shifters and levers. It could be easier to fill with fuel, and shifting may be a little hard sometimes. I was somewhat concered by the water tempurature one hot day while I was mowing with a rotary attachment. (It could have been that I was operating it at too high an rpm, did not overheat, but was in the high end of the operating tempurature limits.) Otherwise really nothing major at this point. The loader has been so useful. not only in the obligatory jobs like hauling dirt, but it also reaches high enough, that I lifted shingles to a roof with it. Be careful when lowering a load, and go slowly, as it will drop fast when loaded. I have a 5 foot rotary mower that I have attached to it, as well, and the tractor handles it without problem. I believe this tractor has been improved so much over the last couple of years, that it does not compare to the units that were available 3 or 4 years ago. I would recommend this tractor to anyone looking for a small tractor to do light to medium work. Although I have seen cheaper prices on "crate tractors", I believe the overall price, and service record for Northern Tools is well worth the small dollar difference."

Nortrac Tractor,
March 2, 2007
By nyorkefrom Colorado Springs, CO
"Excellent buy. I've used this numerous times to move large amounts of snow this entire winter due to the high number of Colorado blizzards. Everything works great on the tractor, although the front end loader lift times can be a bit slow in the cold. Other than that, I'm completely satisfied and you can't be the price."

NorTrac Tractor,
November 27, 2006
By Billfrom Elizabeth, Colorado
"Highly recommend this product for small farm use i can not believe the things that this little tractor can do.We have the front end loader with ours and we keep our roads clear fo snow with it. We live in the country and when it snows we get drifts across the road. 3 and 4 foot drifts dont seem to bother it at all with the 4 wheel drive.Cant wait for summer to see what other kinds of problems it will handle."
