Incoming Water,
April 23, 2008
By Deepwater
from Oran, Missouri
|
"The two sump pumps in my basement could not keep up with the incoming water after 13 inches of rainfall over a two days time period. The North Star transfer pump I had ordered from Nothern Tool for this type of emergency saved the day! The pump is light enough that I could carry it outside to the basement window and filled the tank with gasoline. My wife ran the inlet hose to the sump pump hole in the basement and connected it to the pump and started the transfer pump with one pull of the rope! The transfer pump ran for two hours and took away all the water in my basement. I am very pleased and impressed by this pump!"

Trash Pump,
April 23, 2008
By RWCleary
from Newburyport, MA

"Starts easy. Works great. Moves a lot of water effortlessly. It is heavy fairly heavy, especially for those of us with back problems. (think about buying the wheel kit). Also, the welds on the cage failed rather quickly but that was an easy fix."

"This pump completely exceeded my expectations for removing pond water to make repairs. The Honda engine was a lot easier to operate and the noise was a lot less than I had hoped for . For the money I spent on this operation I am very pleased with the purchase."

Northstar semi-trash pump,
April 21, 2008
By Geo2533

"Our Northstar pump worked great. We only had one problem with the starting rope which broke rendering the pump useless. The rope retracted into the housing making it very difficult to restring in a remote location. I did finally get it restrung but it was a few inches shorter causing the pump to be more difficult to start. I think the starting ropes should be of a higher quality non-fray material."

"Pump runs great and really moves the water. It is a little hard to prime without a foot valve but still well worth the price."

Reliable Performance,

"I use this pump to fill a 3,000 gallon water tender used for wildland fire. This pump is very reliable and you can go wrong with the Honda motor. The water sources we use are usually lakes, ponds, rivers and creeks and the pump doesn't clog or bog down!"

NorthStar Semi-Trash Pump,
January 21, 2008
By Silverbullet
from Dallas Texas
|
"Very reliable. Purchased to drain tanks and swimming pool. Could not believe the amount of suction pump created at a 8 foot drop with little or no primming. I could lose prime and stick hose to bottom of pool with slight opening to start pumping again. Pro: o Resonable cost o Reliable and easy to start o Easy to prime and tremendous pick up o Easy to clean out Con: o A little heavey to move, especially with back trouble"
