"The unit does what it advertises. However, I bought it for another use: I wanted a way to plug a battery tender or charger into my ATV cigarette lighter, so I would not have to remove the seat to get at the battery terminals. None of the battery tenders i found came with a plug in adapter, so I snipped off the double female splitter adapter. Then spliced and soldered on the color coded leads (provided with the unit) to the wires from the male adapter. Now I can rapidly attach the battery tender or charger to the color coded leads, and simply plug it into the cigarette lighter outlet. This would work well for an vehicle with a cigarette lighter outlet (truck, auto, ATV, etc.). It is an inexpensive way to create a low current (0-4 amp) cigarette lightter adapter plug. NOTE: The cable pair is small gauge, so I would not recommend it for anything over 4 amps."
