"i am a paint and body repairman and need a drill press quite often.i purchased one of these at northern tool about three years ago.for the price you cannot find a better drill press.mine has run flawlessly.the belt is easy to change speeds and the press does not require much space. it works fine on most metal up to 3/8 inch thick with a 1/2 inch drill. if you need heavy duty get a bigger drill press.but for most jobs at home and light duty in the shop it is great."

"I have a small shop where I make toys and other small woodworking item. I had no need of a huge drill press and the Mini has more than answered the call everytime I have needed it. I have used it with sanding drums, as well as assorted drilling duties and haven't reached it maximum potential yet! Great deal great tool! Ysolman!"

A nice little drill press,

"I really like this - I've got somewhat limited space for a shop right now and can't use my nice big floor standing unit. This is a great little drill press - doesn't have tons of capacity, but it does what I need it to do. For the price, it would be hard to do any better. Highly recommended."

"I bought this for my father this Christmas. He's legally blind, and needs tools that help him compensate for lack of vision and steady hands. He was looking for an inexpensive drill press to help him keep his holes straight. This fit the bill perfectly. He's very happy with the quality of it, too. What inspired him to ask for this was seeing a similar one at a tool show, and this is better quality than the one he originally saw."

Just Alright,

"I purchased this drill press for some small jobs. It handled those fine, however I found the changing of the belt for different speeds to be difficult and time consuming. For the price this drill press is great however be wear of the job size and remember to change the belt ratios for different jobs....."

Mini drill press,
March 7, 2007

"The drill press is fine, I've used it for about 4 hours since I bought it. I saw a similar drill press, for the same amount of money I spent with Northern, however, this particular one INCLUDED a chuck plastic safety dome-like protector, plus a vise which sits nicely on the square table. Again, under these circumstances, I should have shopped around more, and got more for my money."
