1000 watt generator,
August 25, 2008
By magnum60from Jackson, MS
"I bought one of these 1000 watt generators when it was sold under the Powertrain name. The recoil starter broke under warranty and it took 9 weeks to get a replacement sent. Very difficulty to get the outer case off. Now has a second oil leak in the crankcase. Fortunately the motor is a honda knockoff and most of the parts including gaskets interchange. Good power out put but will not run sensitive electronics. Lots of static on a computer or TV. Next time will spend more for a Honda inverter series."

Sweet and Petite,
August 11, 2008
By DJTimfrom Upstate NY
"I do mobile sound systems and for the smaller jobs this unit is fabulous. There is no appreciable electronic noise on the power supplies. Well filtered and rock steady. The unit is very quiet and It can be 30 to 50 feet away and not interfere in what I am doing at all. The price is very reasonable and you will be delighted with the rapid delivery. I highly recommend it."

Does the Job,
April 22, 2008
By Anonymous Reviewerfrom Annapolis, MD
"Northern Industrial Generator does exactly what I need. Generates clean power for a long time on one tank of gas with minimal noise - in fact 30 feet away and you barely recognize it being on. Slightly heavy to carry but not unexpected. Still easy to handle. Easy start. Only problem I had was in shipping - the carton was not strong enough to take a drop by the shipper which cracked the plastic case. However - no damage to the unit otherwise and worked perfect - shows it is industrial strength."

"Added gas (no mixing) and oil. Started first pull. Great little power source when you don't want to pack around the big generator. Runs most small power tools and appliences."

Great little machine,
January 26, 2008
By AKcabinfrom Port Angeles, WA
"I use this at a cabin in Alaska.....Just works great... Starts great every time we return to the cabin. Runs forever on little gas. Not big enough to run heavy duty tools but keeps lights, etc. going ..on and on! Wish they would make battery start on these and the 2000 watt range also."

Great Gift For Husband,
January 19, 2008
By Poodlefrom Friendswood, Texas
"I ordered this geneerator for my husband for Christmas this year. We had been looking at many different brands of portable generators, and we felt that a certain brand I will not mention would be this best buy. When I went to order the generator I had decided to purchase, I hesitated and did a litle more research. I found the best buy for my dollar (even though a liitle more expensive) was the Northern Industrial Portable. I made the correct decision. My husband has been thrilled. He was really impressed that the new generator from Northern started on the 2nd pull. The quality he tells me is far above the other brands we were looking at. I would recommend Northern as would my husband over any other brand of portable generator.,"
