Top Mount Steel Truck Box - hinges not so good, April 22, 2008

"If it were possible to get lube into the hinges these tool boxes would be excellent. Box is great, doors are fine, locks should lock well - but CANNOT get lube into hinges so they froze up within months after having the boxes. Having lube all over the boxes (you have to make sure to keep the locks lubed too) means if you want something from them better make sure you're dressed for work. With the hinges stuck the doors get bent trying to open and close them which causes (for my boxes) one lock on each door to not be able to reach the frame. Luckily they're still watertight so far, but I sure hope someone can't get into them! Got to look back through paperwork and figure out what they had for warranty."

"I custom ordered these truck boxes in black to match my husbands truck. It took over a month to get the order. When they arrived one had a Big Northern tool sign on it (that thankfully was easily removed) and the other did not. They were both scratched, but not real bad.
This item does not come with all the necessary hardware to install it, so if you order this be aware you will probably have to make a trip to the hardware store.
Otherwise, they real work for what my husband wanted them for."
