wheels replaceing track drive on old trackdr snwbl, March 8, 2007

"very adaptable rim many applications are able to be done by small modifications or none at all
i got these to revamp a nightmare of a track drive,on an old trackdriven snowblower,
i removed th bearings to fit a hub between the two halves of the split rim, (the hubs axle core replaces the bearing places)
a hub that fit the same bolt pattern of the split pattern which was seemingly standard,
driled a hole in the hubs longer offset side, and lined up the holes with the drive shaft on the snowblower,inserted lock pins in the holes ,and now they are drive wheels instead of free wheels.
off i was throwing snow, very easy modification.and what a difference in perf of the snowblower
as a track drive i could'nt push it,now when not engaged by the clutch it pushes easy,probably beacause i dont have all those stiff ,fixed trackdrive hubs holding me back.
another good thing is i can remove a little air in each tire to increas traction and not worry about the tire coming off the bead beacause it has tube tires.
only wish they had deeper knobby tires.ill be putting them on when these go bald."
