"I have a BendPack HD-9 four post lift in my home garage, and I wanted to do wheel/brake/suspension work at times. I really wanted the rolling hydraulic jack from bendpak, but it was a lot more expensive and I would not use it enough to justify the added cost over the jack tray. So I figured worst case everyone needs at least 1 jack tray when working under the car. One thing to note, if your car is low, using bottle jacks can become an issue. If you use a small one, then you can not get the car high enough to use jack stands on the ramps etc.
So the solution was another Northerntool product. I also purchsed their hydraulic sissor jack. This had a fairly low compressed height, and would raise the car almost 15", then I was able to use jack stands to support the car on the ramps of the 4 post lift. I jack up the front slide in my jack stands and lower the car, then I jack up the rear and do the same. Depending which end I'm working on, I use the jack tray with the sissor jack for an additional support. For example if I'm in the front, I'll use the jack stands and the jack tray."
