Miter Saw,
April 21, 2008
By Freddy1from Lake Park MN
"This saw by far was and is the best tool for me when I built my home and garage. I use many other saws from 10 in to 12 in but all around accuracy and performance the Makita 10 in saw was the best. I was able to do everything that I needed to cut or miter in the rough framing lumber to the delicate finish work. If my saw needs to be replaced I will definitely replace it with a Makita 10 in. slider. My friends have asked me many times how I like the saw and they have gone out and purchased one for themselves and they are equally satisfied."

By MacDudefrom Naperville, IL
"Have used this saw a number of times now. Was very impressed with the saw right from the start. Blade cuts smooth and fast. No kickback. Easy to use. Easy to lock angles, depth, and slide if needed. Comes with easy to use clamp that can be mounted on either side easily."

Good saw to take from job to job,
January 21, 2008
By 0503950from Corinth Vermont
"Makita has always made a quality product. This saw although quality seems to be lagging in power depending on the weight of the saw blade used. The saw seems to have more power with a thin kerf 80 tooth than it does with a heavier blade with the same amount of teeth. I am not complaining, just my observation. The saw is accurate once it is adjusted properly. All in all this is a good saw for homeowner or contractor to use from jobsite to jobsite."

Crown molding superstar,
October 30, 2007
By fs581949from Lancaster, SC
"We've been remodeling my mother's home for a year and decided to install crown molding in the den and master bedroom. I have tried coping in the past with pretty good results but decided to try a power tool this time. The Makita sliding compound miter saw mounted on a Rigid extending table made a super outfit for cutting the crown. With the instructions that came with the saw, I was able to put up two rooms of crown, baseboard, and shoe molding in record time. I would recommend this saw to anyone-novice or expert. I didn't ruin one piece of molding and the inside corners fit like gloves. The laser made working with the saw a pleasure, no guess work as to where the cut was going to end up. You can adjust the blade to either side of the laser, but I left it just like it came out of the box. All the common angles have detents and were precise with no adjustments needed. This is a well made, reliable tool that should give anyone years of service."

Makita got this one right,
October 30, 2007
By shaffjofrom Trumansburg, NY
"I purchased this saw approx five months ago and it is a workhorse in my woodworking shop. The laser is not necessarily accurate directly out of the box, but it is adjustable and if still off at all, you get used to it. The light is cool too. More importantly this saw cuts up to 12" boards like butter. I replaced the factory blade with a Frued Diablo blade, and the cuts are smooth as glass. Another thing is I liked how the arm was constructed on this saw. It is very solid and smooth. Expensive, sure, but you get what you pay for."

By Inspector
"THIS IS AN EXCELENT TOOL FOR THE PRICE. IT CAME COMPLETELY ASSEMBLED, READY TO USE RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. IT REQUIRED NO CALIBRATION. ONLY THING IS THE FENCE IS USEABLE ONLY IN THE LEFT HAND POSITION. WOULD BE NICE IF IT HAD A FULL FENCE."
