Rusty and not worth the money,
August 1, 2008

"When I received this product, the pump tubes were rusted on the inside. I don't want rust in my gasoline, so I had to submerge these in a de-rusting compound before even using it. When that was all taken care of, I started to use the pump and I hate it's design.
It is not designed to stay on the gas caddy all the time. It does not seal, so your gas would evaporate constantly out of the pump. I'm not interested in putting the pump into the gas caddy every time I want to use it.
My solution was to simply stack up a bunch of pallets and build a ramp. My gas caddy is about 3.5 ft off the ground so gravity is my pump now."

Gas pump,

"This pump is not worth the money. It leaks, it pumps very hard, it has a very poor fitting attachment to the caddy, you doo a lot of cranking to pump muck gas. The pump leaks around the housing . I have tried tightning, but it doesn't stop the leak. If you stop the pump at a certin spot you have to reverse it to get it to turn becouse it turns forward so hard. The fitting to the caddy does not support the pump and the pickup pipe very well. It strips out just from the weight of the pump, and the preasure of turning the handle. I sealed the joints in the pick up pipe but the pump still pumps some air in the gas. I think it is from leaks in the pump itsself. When you lay it down to fill it leaks around the fitting that holds the pick up tube. This is not sealed and lets gas evaporate. Giving it one star is very generous"

"Pump leaks at bottom of casting. Hard to get flow going - need to wind fast. Pump does not make a seal, so gas evaporates. Pump was a waste of money."
