Drolet insert,
June 15, 2008
By Cbeaurfrom MA
"I did alot of looking around, this is by far the best priced unit. In MA it gets real cold. Only draw back is the cathedral ceilings in the romm where the stove is. I have it in a room that is 24x24 with 16' ceilings, it gets this room up to 70 degrees. The house is close 3,000 sq ft. I will be purchasing another one of these for my other fireplace to heat the remainder of the house, so I will not have to fill my oil tank at a gallon!!!!"

"This little insert was one of the few that would actually fit our fireplace. It was easy to install, looks great and puts out tons of heat.
The thermostat controlled blower is great as well."

"I ordered the Drolet insert and was very pleased with the construction. I was shopping around and this insert is comparable to ones I saw for over ,000. I am a pretty handy person so install wasn't very difficult. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good value and great quality."

"I am very happy with this fireplace. I think that it is worth every cent. I like the big glass door and the adjustable blower. This has really helped with heating my house and we can enjoy watching the fire through the big glass door."

Drolet Wood Insert,
January 15, 2008
By Douglascabinfrom Sontag, MS
"After weeks of searching for a wood insert for our fireplace, we decided to purchase the Drolet Insert. It seemed to be the best value for our money. The heater only took a short period to install, my husband installed it by himself. The faceplate fits beautifully. The blower heats our 1 and 1/2 story enough so the central unit rarely kicks on. Usually this is in the middle of the night when we are sleeping and I don't fill up the heater again until morning. Our nights lately have been between 14 and 36 degrees F. We are unaware of how cold it is til we open the door to get more wood. There are still hot coals to flame up the new wood in the morning. I love to watch the fire through the glass doors, and also, this is my favorite place to sit in the house, on the floor, in front of my heater."

Drolet Fireplace Insert,
January 14, 2008
By JoeOfrom Stewartsville, New Jersey
"I was looking for a woodburing insert to improve the efficiency of the open fireplace our country home in the mountains and did not want to spend thousands. This unit fit the bill perfectly! It burns great and throws an impressive amount of heat. We get an occaisional buzzing vibration when the fan runs that is easily quieted by tapping the ash lip over the fan housing. If I could change anything it would just be a slightly larger firebox and a better lip design as the ashes tend to build up on the bottom of the door frame and fall out when it's opened. This is not a fancy unit but all in all a great stove for the money. The faceplate kit is extra but a must have for a finished look."

Has worked out better than I expected,
January 14, 2008
By AlleninMNfrom Moorhead, MN
"This is my first experience heating with wood. I bought this, the faceplate, and a stainless chimney liner (from another on-line source) and installed in my house. I think I am on track to have this pay for itself in one heating season. My fireplace has a bit of a "dip" in it that I had to go find some metal pieces to go in there so the unit would sit level. Do not try to use the door to "shove" wood inside the firebox. Glass will crack.....ohh yeah...found that out the hard way."

It does the job,
January 14, 2008
By JohnTheCarpenterfrom Cortland NY
"I got the Drolet insert, and it works well. I use it to heat my house. (FYI, my house is 1500 sq ft, and it doesn't heat the whole house, unlike the larger claim) My house is rather well insulated with double attic isulation, and on cold winter days with the fire going full blast and blower going, my house hangs out at about 65 degrees, which is good enough for me, the forced air kicks on occasionally. I'm guessing my blower is a dud, b/c when I read the reviews, people remarked at how quiet the blower is....mine is not. The blower itself can be heard kicking on from upstairs, and at times the ash sheild will vibrate annoying against the stove, I placed a small firebrick on there to keep that vibration to a minimum. The self cleaning glass door really works! My door remains perfectly clean. I use my fireplace insert nearly 24/7 and it does the job for the money, there were no large manufacturing defects, and I'm sure it's already paid for itself."

Drolet Wood Insert,
January 14, 2008
By ProBalancefrom Connecticut
"Stove performs well using Bio Bricks. Easy to install. The only downfall for me was the stove has a temperature sensor which only allows fan operation after the stove reaches a certain temperature. The stove documents state that this can take as long as an hour, which it does. I felt I was not extracting as much heat as I could during this time, so I bypassed the switch and now control the fan using the fan speed switch."

Drolet Insert Model #DB03120,
January 14, 2008
By Troutfrom South Carolina
"Quality stove with a very efficient, quiet running, fan. The only exception is the temperature senser for the fan. It appears that when ashes build up the sensor does not work as well as it should and takes up to 2-3 hours to build up enough heat to activate. Other than that item The stove is good."
