Swings faster than heavier mauls and delivers more splitting power than lighter mauls. Plus the molded grip provides all-day comfort and added control.
"Fantastic product. I have been splitting using it and a Wood grenade also sold by Northern and they make a perfect pair. I use the Splitting end of the maul to retrive my splitter incase it gets stuck."

6 lb Maul- Can't beat the price!,

"I needed to replace the handle on my old maul. I split alot of wood (ALOT) and it was time to put a new handle on. After pricing just handles out, I couldn't believe the price of this complete maul! It was cheaper than me buying a replacement handle alone. The maul is a bit on the dull side (the angle on the edge needs to be increased a bit), but this is true of every other maul I've ever purchased. A little grinding and fine tuning, and I'm busting my way thru oak, hickory, beech...... you name it. So far this year, we have put out over 150 pickup loads of wood and still, we don't use an automatic splitter. I do whatever needs by hand, and this tool does the job. Do yourself a favor and get a fiberglass handle. If you miss a few times, nothing to worry about. I break pieces into quarters while they are still together, and often smack the handle over the piece closest to me. No problem. The fiberglass handle takes the abuse."
