Great Saw,
August 20, 2008
By DeKa
from Oceanside, CA
|
"This is a great saw, like all the other DeWalt tools in my shop. This saw is tough (gets dropped on occassion) and holds up well. I have used it to cut thick lumber for distance of 8ft with no problems. This is the reason I purchased the saw. My other saw could not do the job and just heated up. Its lighter weight than my other saw, smooth and easy to handle. Great saw, should get the job done for you!"

Like the brake,
August 18, 2008
By Dynamicbrakeman

"Always have been taught to not set a circular saw down until the blade stops spinning. This saw has the electric motor brake which stops the blade quickly after each release of the power trigger. Saves me time -- I can get on to the next cut or next step of my project without waiting for the slow spin down of a normal circular saw. The brake is electric so there are no friction pads or bands to wear out or get out of adjustment. Same firm, but gentle and very quick slow down and stopping of the blade every time. I believe it is a dynamic brake, just like that in a hybrid car or a subway train. Saw has a very sturdy feel to it, and yet feels considerably lighter than older circular saws I've used in the past. Overall the saw has a conservative design -- on the plus side the saw is easy to adjust to and is very solid. However, over the 10 years I've been shopping saws (always knew I'd buy this one because of the DeWalt name and the electric brake) I've noticed some new approaches to circular saws and their features. Laser guidance and changes in the blade guard design stand out. Whether or not in actual field use these changes are improvements I can't tell. I can say that the blade guard on the DW369CSK works very smoothly in free air however it does introduce that ages old "catch" to the movement of the saw through the cut when it contacts the edge of the board you are cutting. With more use of the saw I would learn to better anticipate and counter this but I am only an occasional user at this point. Some of the other saws I looked at had blade guard designs that might lessen this problem. Also laser guidance was a feature even on much lesser quality saws I looked at -- don't know how helpful the laser is but this DW369CSK doesn't have one."

Powerfull and accurate,

"I have built many houses and performed a lot of home improvements and this is the best power saw so far. The wide flat base keeps the saw stable for a clean accurate cut. The ease of ajusting angles and depth is a delight to use. Buying this tool has lead me to prefer using other Dewalt tools. You should try them you will not be disapointed."

Takes a beating!!,

"I found one of these saws laying on the side of a hill in a pouring rain, I guess it had fell out of the back of someones pickup. The plastic grill on the side was broke off, and the blade was a little bent, but other than that it worked great. I took it home and cleaned it up, got all the mud out of the motor, and put a new blade on it (I lucked out, it had a case with two new blades lying not too far from the saw.) The saw has worked perfect ever since then and it was out in the weather for at least a week. The only thing I didn't like about the saw was the heft. It is a little top heavy and can stray when cutting because of it, other than that it has been a great saw. I will definitely buy another Dewalt if this one should ever quit on me."

Great saw,

"I have had 3 brands of circular saws and this dewalt saw is hands down the best that I have owned. Grip is comfortable, I used the saw to cut 1" thick MDF, very dense, and the saw cut easily, very smooth, no jagged edges. I would recommend this saw to anyone, well worth the money!"

Cuts Right Every Time,
October 30, 2007
By John2167

"Replaced my aging saw with this Dewalt and wondered why I did not do it sooner. I rebuilt my kitchen with this saw and the pure ease in operation, straight cut, and easy to see guide make its use a pleasure. Angle cuts are true and the blade brake a must have. This saw does not tend to "walk to the side" while cutting and the design makes bevel cuts a snap."
