Perfect Replacement,

"I needed a replacement engine for my lawn mower. This engine fit perfectly, but Briggs and Stratton engines aren't built like they once were. They now have a lot of plastic in them, so they've lost most of the ruggedness. Great service (as usual) from Northern Tool. Fast Shipping and they have the items in stock."

"This motor was to replace our log splitter motor. It arrived ahead of schedule and installed very quickly. Fired right up and going strong. I believe this is better than the one that was replaced."

Good Replacement Engine,

"I used this engine to replace a worn out engine on an old DR string trimmer. Fit pretty well but as expected I had to drill new mounting holes. Plenty of power. Much lighter than the original engine (which also had electric starter that no longer worked). Since I could not get the old pulley off I wound up getting a new one at a local farm and home.
The engine does surge a bit when the trimmer is disengaged. It probably needs a flywheel or blade, but it is not a real problem.
This engine starts great when it is cold. But after it gets hot its not at all easy to re-start. I think the fancy automatic choke is the problem but have not tried disabling it -- I just cuss at it until it starts (maybe 10 pulls later)."
