"After a seasons use, the spreader has seezed up, a wheel has fallen off, and the flow rate control has broken...
Serves me right for being a 'cheap skate'..... Buy a more expensive one.
Not recommended!"

"Don't purchase this product, it's worthless as a salt spreader. It may work if you use small pellet type material such as calcium cloride or something that flows very easily. Salt fresh out a sealed bag would stop flowing almost immediately after the little bit around the drop area cleared, forcing you to shake the unit until it started again, over and over and over. (a 40 lb bag)
When trying to simply open the valve area more the control wouldn't move until it snapped open all the way, dropping all the salt at once. Impossible to get a decent steady flow with salt.

The control mechanism is junk, even when the hopper was empty, it wouldn't open and close without a lot of playing around, and when you have product in it it just doesn't want to move at all.

Finally the control mechanism broke inside the handel control, now I have a mini wheel barrel to bring the salt up my driveway , where I can use my garden shovel to throw it out by hand again..
This all happened with in 15 minutes of taking it out of the box, it's junk.
If they had a zero star rating I would use it on this review. Save yourself the aggrivation and buy a quality spreader, I made the mistake of trying to go cheap, don't do it yourself."

"I dont recommend this spreader for anything other than the small home owner to use on their little side walk.Lots of plastic on the controls , tires are very small. gate stop is plastic .All parts seem very lite duty."
