Happy Customer,
April 14, 2008
By ALfromFLfrom FL
"Quick response time by Northern recieved in excellent condition. Pullled out of the box with very little assembly and fired her off. Flame was a little hard to get adjusted, but it was new. Consumes more fuel than advertised. Using it to heat a 16X24 Shop in North FL, so it gets things warmed up very quickly. Thanks"

Worth the price,

"I have 2 of these. 1 for upstairs and one for the main level. with the price of NG, it really helps cut down on the heating bill. And if you run a small fan to help move the heat around it will get in to all your open rooms"

Kerosene Heater,
January 14, 2008
By Dreamafrom Maryland
"This was a very good value for the cost as it also included extra's, pump, wick and batteries. It is a replacement of one that I only use for emergency heat and have not had the oppurtunity to actually use it yet."

December 25, 2007
By Kerofrom Elizabethtown, PA
"This heater is really nice and works very well. Once it's up and running it's very warm, and there is no smell. The only thing i dislike about it is the carring handle. It seems very weak for the weight of the heater and it really bows when carrying it. Other than the handle seeming a little cheap, its an excellent heater, escpecially for when the power goes out."

Big Burn, but.....,
December 23, 2007
By dancethislifefrom Wisconsin veterinarian
"After having owned several kerosene heaters, I feel I have a grasp on what works and what does not. Besides, I am a scientist and have a sense of how things function. This model is fabricated of light materials that will not endure like my old DC-90 Toyostove Heater. The metal is thin and uncoated in places. In a few seasons, unless very well cared for and thoroughly cleaned, the oxidation products embedded on the surfaces will corrode the metal housing during the off-season of summer’s humidity. The handle is especially poorly designed. It bends and sheers the housing if it is used to move the heater with a full tank. This is a very big disappointment, and I am surprised that the manufacturer did not make a simple fix for this poor product design. Such a design flaw could result in an accident were someone to carry the unit while lit. Worse than the handle, however, is this model's insufficiently large catalytic combustion chamber, as well as insufficent large entry air-ducts. The catalytic converter is too short and does not produce complete combustion. Consequently, in spite of using excellent fuel and a clean wick, the room air is always tinged with a hint of unburned kerosene. This is not the case with my Turco or Toyostove models which I have had for a long time. I notice that their catalytic combustion chambers are taller, and the shield within the secondary combustion chamber that splays the flame out in order to provide complete aeration of fuel has a wider perimeter. Both these features allow the stove/heater to more efficiently burn fuel. Such design shortcomings, it would seem to me, could have been easily fixed at little expense, had the manufacturer given better fore-thought to the heater’s design. The wick is non-pinned, and consequently cheaper to replace and easier to install. The unit was fairly cheap, which induced me to purchase it for a try. Be sure to burn your first tank of fuel out-of-doors so that you do not inhale the noxious volatilized finish fumes that arise on the heater's first burn. As it is, I could only recommend this heater for use in a garage or workshop where there are more frequent air changes in the room and odor is less of an issue in a dirty environment. I agree with other commentaries: the heater has little latitude for controlling output."

great heater,
December 17, 2007
By postalfrom kansas
"We used this heater when we were out of power for 5 days. The temp was in the teens at night and this easily heated our entire main floor. We could not leave it on because it made the house too hot. I would recomend this heater. However I never saw a time it could heat for 12 hours on one tank of fuel. We went thru 13 gallons of fuel in 5 days."
