"For your portable battery backup needs the Xantrex XPower Powerpack 1500 is the best unit available and I've bought over 10 of them. The wheeled unit makes it very easy to get it where it needs to go for those small jobs that are far from a power plug and you will likely want two because you always seem to need a little more juice just as the batteries are running low. The latest Xantrex 1500's have had a downgrade in capacity. The old units used to come with three internal batteries of 21 AH each making a total of 63 Amp hours of storage but lately the batteries are only 17 AH each for only 51 total amp hours. That smarts when you are just about done with a project and the low power warning sounds. All and all it's a great self contained all around unit."

Portable/Standby Power at a Reasonable Price,

"You can't always use a generator to provide on-the-job AC for tools or recharging power tool batteries. Plus, I live in the woods and we frequently lose power, so back-up power from a source that can run safe, quiet and fume free inside your home is useful to have around. The really great thing about the XPower 1500 is that it recharges in the truck on the way home, in the wall plug when the power comes back on, from my generator if it doesn't, or from a solar panel when I can afford it. I researched every item available and this is the single best purchase for these uses. I added a second 60 Amp/hr battery to mine and doubled it's reserve capacity. The cart is quite sturdy and can easily handle the extra weight. Plus, Xantrex customer service is there for you if you need help."
