electric hoist northern heavy duty,
August 18, 2008
By Ron235from Wicomico Church Va
"I purchased this item for a boat lift. It does the job with ease. It was easy to install You have a choice to either use a single hook or double it to get the full rating. The speed is fast but you can slow it down. It can be used for many things. You can lift small equipment. You can raise a riding lawn mower to work on blade or change oil. Just rember the capacity and use to do endless projects"

Great hoist, strong, but short control cable,
August 18, 2008
By alightfrom Norcross, GA
"Like everyone else, I love the hoist. It lifts my large equipment up while I move away the create, and lower on to wheeled dollies. I can run my warehouse to unload truck load of crates by myself that used to be struggle at times with 3 guys.
Very powerful, and easy controls. Control wire is only about 6 feet long, but I have it mounted on the truss that is about 18 feet up. So, I extended the control cable with another heavy gauge insulated wire by another 18 feet. I wish there was an available option for extended control. The safety mechanism triggers often when the load is not directly below the hoist. It is a hassle to try to keep it lined up since these are heavy loads.
Overall great very and good work horse. I recommend it."

1500# electric hoist,
August 13, 2008
By razor6570from Pennsylvania
"I was very impressed with the way the hoist was built. It is very heavy duty. It is small but powerful. My dad placed it in his garage for lifting things out of his truck. The biggest reason I purchased it, is for hanging wild game for processing. The only thing that could be a little better is the pendant cord. It could be a little longer. However I can live with it. The price was was just right."

Can't beat it, especially for the price,
August 12, 2008
By KanyonATVfrom Panguitch, UT
"I build ATV's and OHV's and this was the perfect option. I use it in my shop to lift the crated equipment while I remove the crates and build out the vehicle. The heaviest I have lifted so far was about 1000 pounds and this thing lifted it like it was nothing. The cable did fray quickly, which is normal for this type of equipment, but after replacing it with a synthetic rope it works perfectly."

garage lift,
April 21, 2008
By choppermanfrom minnesota
"I wanted to use the attic space that was available in my garage. I purchased this hoist and mounted it in the attic to lift the platform that I built. After hours of planning and building, this hoist performed fantastically. I have been using it for two years now and it can lift my snowblower, patio furniture, even my heavy duty tiller. This hoist never even grunts. It is always reliable and has made my garage much more useful."

Great for attic project,
January 16, 2008
By POWERmeUPfrom Chesapeake, VA
"Did (and doing) the job perfectly. Using it to lift everything to the 3rd story attic for a remodel project. Pulls up the I Beams/subfloor/everything with ease. Need to be very watchful of the cable as it can get wound wrong if pulled to the side. I would definitely buy this again and was very pleasantly surprised by the excellent quality for an unbeatable price. I built a large swing set type structure to attach it to using a 2x8 top beam and 4x4 legs (probably overkill). It would be best to just use a steel pole of appropriate size/strength for the main support since the hangers are designed for such. Works either way. No regrets on this purchase."

Northern Industrial Heavy-Duty Electric Hoist,
January 16, 2008
By DRDanfrom Colorado
"Well built winch. Runs very smoothly. Nice safety features: The winch shuts down before the load can be spooled into the cable drum and the winch cannot be operated without first pressing the safety button. Easy to install using the provided clamps but will also mount easily to any suitable flat surface. I'm lifting an average load of about 300 to 400 pounds. The motor isn't even working hard. If you are looking for a nice winch, this is it."
