Dewalt Planer,
August 18, 2008
By Keith123from Mississippi
"After retirement I wanted to purchase a good planer that would plane boards up to 13 inches with enough power to turn the knives to get a satisfactory planed surface. The Dewalt Planer Model #DW735 does an excellent job. There are two speeds on the planer. One for sizing the lumber and the other for a smooth planed finish. The quality of the planed surface on the lumber makes wood working easy. There is still some finish sanding that has to be done but this takes minimal time. The only problem that I've experienced is that the pull rollers sometimes "burn off" some rubber residue if the board being planed is thicker on one end than the other. The initial cuts sometimes have to be pushed through to assist the pull rollers on the planer. Other than that the controls and ease of use are very user friendly. I enjoy using this tool."

Smooth and easy to use,
August 18, 2008
By GTD1944from Fulton, MS
"I purchased the DW 735 planer a few months ago. This is the first planer I have used since teaching shop classes over 30 years ago. The DW735 is very user friendly, easy to adjust to the thickness desired, and very compact for small work spaces. The casters alow the DW735 to be moved easily from one area to another, while providing a substantial work base when the casters are in the locked position. Old barn lumber is now as smooth as new sawn number 1 southern pine."

Fine piece of equipment,

"I've had the DeWalt DW735 planer with extension tables for several months now and I'm extremely pleased with the quality of the machine and the quality of of the work produced. I have it mounted on a 32" high table which saves a lot of back stress. The dust/chip collector works well. I have it connected to my dust collection system, but have also used it with a shop vac with no problems and no clogs. It's exceptionally clean dust-wise. I would heartily recommend this planner to anyone."

Dewalt Planer,
August 18, 2008
By mikey8from Butler, PA
"This has to be one of the best planers I have used in years. The two speed variation is great when you are taking a lot of material off or just wanting to do a nice smooth finish path. The vaccuum attachment works good to remove the chips really strongly. very much recommended over other models of dewalt and any delta units."

13" Planer Model#DW735,
August 18, 2008
By woodbutcherdonfrom Barto,Pa.
"This 13" Planer is great. It does a nice job when planning,It is easy to change blades. The nice thing about changing blades there is no setting up to do and it planes perfect with the settings. My only concern is it should be made in a wider model also for the wider projects. the controls are simple and easy to use. The shaving exhaust really pushes the shavings out. I have found no faults in it at all . I have been a woodworker for over 50 years and have used a lot of different planers but this one works top notch and is price right."

Dewalt 3 blade planer,
August 18, 2008
By mandomanfrom Bakersfield, Ca
"I purchased this planer 3 years ago and have used it daily. This is a great tool. It goes thru hard wood easily and leaves a smooth finish if you guide the board as it comes off the roller it will snipe the board, so you have to support it even with the wings. I highly recommend it to any home woodworker for its easy to use and to maintain, and is a well built tough tool."

Great home use planer,
April 21, 2008
By Woodmizerfrom Alexandria, VA
"I had to take down an oak and maple tree for our home addition. I was able to get someone with a portable sawmill come and make some lumber for me. I finally got to the point of using for trim in the house, the planer works great. works very fast with very good results. The blades last a descent amount of time but it is pretty easy to tell when they start dulling. Very easy to get to them to change/turn around. I like that the tool to recove the cover and blades located and stored on the machine, makes it fast/easy to work on - and you do lose or misplace the tool. The chip collector has clogged a few times but was easy to clean out. Highly recommned the extension wings, helps make sure you are feeding the boards flat. I also recommned placing on a table or bench, bending over on the foor will wear you out, ecspecially with larger boards"

Great machine,
April 21, 2008
By cosmo261from Northern Michigan
"I purchased this planer about 3 years ago and it has done a great job in my woodshop. The knives are easy to replace and they never need adjustments. The two speeds are exceptionally handy for size planing as well as finishing. Usually only a light sanding with 120-220 grit sandpaper is required for an excellent finish. I would reccomend this machine to anyone that needs a light to medium duty planer."

"I have enjoyed the use of the DEWALT Planer. I have produced three pieces of furniture using the planer from cherry which I milled myself using another Northern Tool! This tool works as advertised and is easily understood right out of the box. I haven't had any issues at all - so far. Great tool!"
