The Only Drill Motor You Need,
April 21, 2008
By SilverFoxefrom Charlotte. NC
"This drill motor is a brute! For tradesman or serious do-it-yourselfers alike. Just a smidge over 5 pounds, but packing all the torque you need for virtually any job. The 3 speed all-metal transmission is built to last, and drills or drives into any material you encounter. I've bored studs and joists with a speed bit for wire runs, concrete block with a tungsten bit for mounting expansion sleve bolts, and driven easily stripable brass screws, on the low speed setting. The Makita did each with equal ease. Long life Ni-MH batteries and Makita reliability in a well-balanced, compact package. You won't find a better tool for the value."

Excellent Tool,
October 30, 2007
By tommy156from Smoaks, SC
"I have been using Makita power tools for many years and decided to try some of the cordless tools. My first purchase was this Makita cordless drill. On the first job site I took it on it performed flawlessly and I didn't have to drag extension cords around. This drill ran a five foot long, 3/4 inch auger bit lengthwise in logs to install the eletrical equipment I was installing. The power was amazing, weight is minimal, making for a much easier day. After using this drill for two weeks I was committed and duplicated most of my corded tools with cordless tools and I have never regretted it. This is one of the finest tools I have ever owned."

Great cordless drill for the home diy'er,
October 29, 2007
By mmcpofrom Virginia Beach, VA
"Makita's 14.4 vdc cordless drill is the perfect size for the home diy'er. Great battery life and torque in a reasonably sized and weighted product. I highly recommend this product for all size/scope home projects. Quality and function get 5 stars, but the high price pulls my overall rating to 4 stars."
