Solar-Powered Trickle Charger — 5 W,
July 9, 2007

"I was very surprised and impressed at how much voltage I was getting from this charger with little to no sun. I used a 12 volt tester on the charger and even went inside the garage so it only saw day light and still I was getting 13.2 volts on my meter. Well worth the investment especially if you have batteries that sit dormant and loose charge such as a camper. This charger will keep the batteries up for you so when you are ready to use the camper the batteries will be fully charged for you without worry. I highly recommend this solar charger."

Maintainance of Boat Batteries in RV Storage yard,
January 21, 2008
By CaptainKimo

"This is the second set of two panels I have purchased. The only reason for the second purchase is I have accidently pulled out the connections from the panels, otherwise they would still be used. The new set provides the option of either using alligator clips to the battery terminals or a cigarette lighter male plug to a DC outlet on the boat. They seem to be better constructed and at the SAME price I paid 10 years before.
My trailerable sailboat is stored in an RV lot without available AC power. Once the boat batteries are at full charge, these panels provide a tickle charge to maintain that level depending on the amount of sun. The leads are long enough for me to place the panels on top of the boat cabin and run them through the opening left by the sliding hatch and the companion way cover to the two on board deep cycle batteries terminals. Because the panels are only 5 Watt rating, a regulator is not required.
The batteries are always ready when I am."

Solar-Powered Trickle Charger,
January 15, 2008
By frosty01

"I bought this product to maintain the batteries on my 24' Grady White while I had it in storage over the winter. I placed the panel flat on the deck, under the boat's protective shrink wrap and was concerned that I wouldn't get enough direct sunlight to maintain the batteries. To my surprise however, I measured the panel's output at over 20 volts; more than enough to maintain the batteries, while at the same time protecting the solar panel from the harsh salt environment . Needless to say, I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend this product to others."

Does exactly what I had hoped,

"I have this charger on an ice shack and it seems to do a great job maintaining the batteries. I use the batteries to run all lights, the tv, a fan, and to charge the cell phone. It has kept an acceptable charge in the battery for at least five days of heavy use."

Help the charge,

"The charger did all that it said it would and continues to keep my high performance car charge in-betwen uses. The one item missing that I would recommend is a set of the suction cups that is mentioned in the literature but is not added."

Superb value,

"I have been using several of these solar units for over 5 years and it is one of the most economical units I have seen. It is a very small investment for it's return. I have been able to maintain the battery bank on my each of my campers for up to a week and a half of camping before needing to hook up the vehicle to charge the batteries. Previously I would need to charge with the vehicle every 3-4 days. It puts out a decent amount of current even on cloudy and rainy days, which cannot be said for a lot of other units. Very durable, easy to use, and pays for itself quickly. I have recently purchased two of Northern's 15 watt panels for permanent mounting to allow extended use on a camper without needing a charger, and I have no reservations that they will provide the same quality and usability that this portable little unit has."

The best product you won't find anywhere else,

"I've never seen anything like it, but it's so simple, inexpensive, built well, and helps more than you can imagine. I installed it on the side of my small shed, and it keeps my ATV battery fresh as new. Don't think twice about getting this, do it now before you have to replace your battery like I had to, I wish I would have bought it 2 years ago."
