Excellent product and price,

"I purchased two of these solar panels along with the charge controller and 1000 watt Inverter also sold by Northern.
The panels are connected through the charge controller to one deep cycle 100AH battery in my boat house. The system was easy to wire and well made. The panels are very well packaged and of very good quality. The wattage rating appears to be actually slightly more than advertised. The system is a very good substitute to having commercial power extended to the boat house and is much cheaper to install.. I use the system to provide 120 VAC power for occasional use of power tools like drills, a blender and a radio.
Future plans include the installation of LED lighting and switches to provide low level lighting of the dock and boathouse for evening cruises or gatherings."

Back woods bonus,

"We are in the process of building a cabin on 35 acres in Northwest Colorado. Our site is and will always be "off grid". I have purchased (5 )of the 15 watt solar panels from Northern Tool to charge my deep cycle batteries. I will keep adding the panels as needed for 12 volt pumps, lighting, inverter, etc. The panels were simple to install and wire together for expansion. Northern Tool has packaged the product well as to not have any damage. I would recommend these panels to anyone who is serious about living off grid with a limited budget."

Excellent Solar Product,

"I keep two of these on my travel trailer and they keep my deep cycle batteries fresh for use. I don't have much use for a generator anymore so camping is now quiet! Mine hook up to two deep cycle batteries that power all the 12V lighting, fans, and pumps. I have a small converter that powers up a TV. Before these panels I was always worried about the power consuption at night and then having to run a generator to recharge the batteries during the day. Now this is all a silent, automatic process. You could use these to keep lights in a shed, your mower's batteries charged, etc. I use power controllers to maximize the way they charge the batteries."

GREAT PANEL,
May 8, 2008

"Hi, I would just like to say what a great solar panel this is. I bought the 80 watt solar panel from Northern Tools and it's great it's everything that they say it is and much more. I got this 15 watt panel to power my security system battery along with Northern Tools 7 amp charge controler and it a perfect match. It keeps my battery charged full with no problems using the 7 amp solar charger from Northern Tools. I could have used a smaller panel but for the price for the 15 watt it just makes sense and I dont have to worry if it can charge my security battery. I use the 80 watt to power my work shop after I retired, using deep cycle batterys and a Inverter which Northern Tools has also. Thanks Northern Tools for great products. I will be adding about 3 more of the 80 watt panels from Northern Tools which will give me close to 20 amps of charging power. Nickt7"

Soalr Energy Panel,

"I bought this panel to keep two batteries on the boat charged up. Unlike the less than 5 watt panels which seemed to have trouble keeping up, this panel did a great job keeping both fully charged. It is light weight and really durable (it has been sat on and still works). The one drawback is I had to run it through a charge modulator to prevent the batteries from being overcharged but this has had the added advantage of conditioning the batteries so they actually hold the charge better."

"The unit arrived well packaged and protected. The construction appears to be very sound. Cables seem durable, with solid connections. I would have like the instructions to have more details on alternative connection configurations."

"Not only do these solar panels work well they have excellent output when covered with snow. And when I had problems with the plastic frame coming off the company sent me replacements for all of them, no charge. I will buy more; it is great to buy a product that has a company that will stand behind what they sell."

Solar Panels Great!,
April 21, 2008

"We are using three of these panels and the recommended controller to keep the batteries for our 30' Travel Trailer charged. The Trailer is on land we own in Maine and we have found this system to be fool proof and dependable. We have constant and dependable power for lights, pumps, radio. When we build on the land an enlarged version of this system will be used to provide 12v power for the cabin. Very cost effective and hassle free power. I have priced other solar systems panels and these have been very competitive. Thanks Northern Tool."

very affordable,

"They give a full 1 amp of power per panel in good sunlight but the controller shows some charging current right up until dark. A few panels, coupled with 2 deep cycle batteries, and a 1000w inverter has been keeping up well in an occasional use cabin. I have 2 installed now and adding 3 more for this summer when usage will be higher. With the high price of gasoline, this is very cost effective by not running the generator. The whole system will pay for itself eventually."
