Powerful saw in an affordable package!,

"I purchased this saw several months ago with no particular project in mind. I have been so impressed with it's value and performance I have been looking for projects around the house that require me to use it. My poor band saw is becoming lonely because I am not longer limited by it's 9 inch throat opening. The orbital settings and power of this saw rival any of the high priced name brands. Also, to find a saw of this price range with an accurate laser sight is unheard of. I have been extremely pleased with this saw and the quality of Northern Industrial Brand! I keep searching the catalog for my next purchase."

"I was looking for an inexpensive jigsaw for a small project. I was skeptical about this product because it costs so much less than the name brand tools. However, after using the saw a few times, I am very happy with its performance. It probably doesn't have as many features as the more expensive jigsaws, but it is definitely capable for the weekend warrior like myself."

"For the price this jig saw cannot be beaten. It performs as well as more expensive units. Only problem I found is that you have to remove the blade to store it in the carrying case,"

Northern Industrial Variable Speed Jigsaw — 6 Amp,

"I received this jigsaw saw as a Christmas present along with Northern Industrial Compound Sliding Miter Saw with laser. I don’t have any current projects so I gave both a little work-out just to see what they could do. The jigsaw worked as claimed, had plenty of power and cut straight. I didn’t get the chance to do any detailed cutting but the size and weight of the saw, along with the variable speed kept the saw on the board and moving right along. I will add that the saw is larger and heavier than my old one and a little harder to manipulate. If your projects require minor detailed cutting you might find this saw a little on the over-kill side. But for major home improvements and home projects this saw feels like it could handle the job without flinching. Like I said I haven’t given the jigsaw a real workout yet but it is as described by Northern Tools and worked well so I’ll give it five stars. Should things change later I will update my recommendation."

"I am very pleased with this jigsaw's performance. It has power when you need it and it also can do the slower speeds as well. Currently I needed to cut a few cut-ins for a bench I built and every cut went smoothly and accurately thru. I will also say that it's red laser light really helps keep the blade on the line !!! I am very happy with it's performance and would recommend it to a friend."

"I bought this as a Christmas present for myself. Great little saw, plenty of power, adjustable speed, laser guide and I especially like the adjustable orbital travel of the blade which is useful when cutting a variety of different materials. Saw comes with a variety blades for wood, plastic and light metal. I don't think you could beat this saw for the money. Also comes with a handy storage case."

"I purchased this as a back up to my extremely old Craftsman Jig Saw. After having been asked by friends for help with different re-modeling projects, they loved and were much surprised with the amount of power and the included laser guide with this jig saw. Another friend found it easier to cut outlet holes in wallboard over his own saw. I then knew I had chosen a winner! I now find myself using this saw over my old one, and have permanently retired my Craftsman to a storage capacity. When I need a jig saw, I always grab the Northern 6 Amp model. For remodeling challenges, it truly appears to have all the power necessary and the laser guide is a real godsend. Cudos NORTHERN Tool & Equipment!"
