Perfect Tool for Tire Shop,
April 24, 2008
By L132from Stafford, VA
"I have 6 of these impact guns in my tire shop. Perfect for pretty much every situation/tire/application. Can withstand more than a few high drops and requires very little maintenance (other than regular oiling and greasing occasionally). Would highly recommend for anyone in need of a reliable impact gun."

"I own a commercial tire repair service and I have 5 of these impacts. They have all done a terrific job . They are used every day and most are over 2 years old . We punish our tools here let them hammer on bolts and nut longer than we should to break them loose. Needless to say they take better care of us than we do them."

Best for the price,
January 25, 2008
By superduperfrom Walnut Creek, CA
"I've owned many impact wrenches over the years and know which ones to stay away from now. I can say that this one is a terric impact tool and is extremely durable. Back when I purchased it, it was one of the top/line available and priced much higher than it is today. When others failed, this one never missed a beat. I can't tell you how much torque it actually has (how can you tell?) but I do know that it can snap bolts if you aren't careful, can zip lugs on tigher than you can remove by hand, and has removed every nut/bolt/pulley thrown it's way. I've had mine for over 20 years now. I no longer wrench anymore so it is rarely used but when I need it, it still zips like it always does without fail. Stay away from CP tools that deteriorate even when not being used. Apparently, those had some plastic parts in them that were not very resistant to petroleum (you have to lube these tools regularly) and the contact with the lubricating fluid causes the plastic to become brittle and break. I know this firsthand as I have a couple of air rachets that were hardly ever used and when I last dug them out, sure enough, they no longer work and have become nice looking paperweights."

IR air impact wrench,
January 21, 2008
By beep730from Detroit MI.
"Very good for basic lugnut & stuck rusty bolts, removal of shocks-struts etc. I've used for five years no problems, suggest a rubber ring around tool to keep from scratching when you set it on the ground. Overall nice tool for the money,"

Ingersoll Rand Air Impact Wrench,
January 21, 2008
By hudsonfrom Central Florida
"Have standardized on the IR Model 231 for our shop. We have had good results and life out of these guns. Good weight to power. This impact would loosen bolts that our 3/4" Craftsman wouldn't break loose."

Captain, I need more power...,
January 14, 2008
By TLC01from Littleton, NH
"Over all this is a good product. It is well made, well balanced, has a good warranty and works pretty well. It does not have the power advertised on the website. It may push 350 ft lbs but no way it has 590 ft lbs- I had trouble doing suspension work with it. For the short money, it is a good wrench."

this is a great impact for the price,
October 29, 2007
By autotechfrom denver,colorado
"I have been an auto tech for new car dealers for the past 25 years. I have owned snap on and other brands of impacts at much higher prices.but this IR 231h performs as well as them. I have a bluepoint (snap-on)that isnt even close to the performance of this IR .I would recommend this impact to anyone looking for a long lasting ,quality tool. I bought this one because a co-worker I worked with for several years had the step down..231c and it outperformed my bluepoint for the past 12 years. it was time for a new one..I bought the IR 231H and have no regrets"

Ingersoll Rand Air Impact Wrench, Bad to the core,
October 29, 2007
By Happyfrom I Live in Glendale, California. I was in mfg. 30yr
"This is one tough tool. Rapid enough for assembly set-ups on fast moving assembly lines. All the wrenching torque needed for heavy torque large bolts and still light enough for all day use. Compact to get into tight spots. Full service-ability with plenty of replacement parts available when needed after years of service. Great for use in my many years as a auto and motorcycle mechanic and manufacturing assembler."
