"THE VECTOR POWER INVERTER #VEC050 WAS A LIFE SAVER DURING HURRICANE WILMA. BECAUSE WE HAD TO EVACUATE MARCO ISLAND AND THERE WAS NO ELECTRICITY TO BE FOUND ENROUTE TO THE EAST COAST, IT HELPED US KEEP IN TOUCH WITH HAVING OUR CELL PHONES CHARGED, DVD PLAYERS FOR THE KIDS, AND SMALL TELEVISION TO KEEP US UPDATED ON REPORTS OF THE HURRICANE. GREAT PRODUCT OF ANY POWER TO PUT ON YOUR HURRICANE PREP LIST."

"Our company uses this inverter with the solar panels that we bought and together these components work excellently together. Supplies all the AC power that we need to run equipment in our small field office/shop. Highly recommend this system to everyone who wants to explore the use of solar energy and power. Thanks for a great product."

110 power at your fingertips,
January 21, 2008
By Twohandsfrom Springfield, Oregon
"I purchased this invertor to give me the ability to connect power tools in remote locations and it has performed exceptionally well. The ease of installation was accomplished with the use of the booster cable system also sold by Northern. This allowed me a solid quick connectivity and the necessary flexibility of the Vector 1500 watt invertor. I did have to install a dual post battery to simplify the installation, but that worked beautifully. I recommend this unit for those that want to have 110 volt power at their fingertips with their vehicle."

Vector 1500 watt keeps food frozen,
October 29, 2007
By riveratfrom South central PA
"I bought mine 5 years ago from Northern mainly to keep from losing food in the refrigerator and freezer during extended periods of loss of power. I had previously lost a freezer full of food and decided it wouldn't happen again. I run each for an hour or so every 8 hours and it has been enough to keep from loosing any more food. I also purchased a commercial sized 4DP battery to handle the 12 volt input. Now I am running a projection TV, satellite, lights, fans and whatever else during outages. Whenever my 12 volt starts to wear down I recharge with my truck and a set of jumper cables. Probably the best thing about it all is that the only noise I hear is the sound of my neighbors generator which I don't know how they put up with it. I don't know how I ever managed without it as it sure makes life easier. I live out in the sticks and we lose power every time the wind puts a tree across the power lines."

does what i want it to do,
October 25, 2007
By mhfrompafrom Troy, PA
"I bought one of these 12 years ago at work. Still works, so I got one for home. Runs all my power tools (except air compressor and welder) from my riding mower battery. Why buy duplicate cordless tools with different batteries etc. ?This will run an electric chain saw (quiet) in a campground, a table saw, many Christmas lights - far from the house, the video projector out back in the woods(great for "scary movie night"). Can hardly wait until the power goes out this winter. One solar charged deep cycle battery runs flouresent lights all night at our campsite. I wouldn"t recommend a smaller inverter for shop tools. Also, don't waste your money on a no name cheapie, they don't hold up."
