Get enough torque for heavy-duty industrial applications and more than enough power for home or jobsite applications. The DEWALT DW292 impact wrench runs on AC or DC current and has die-cast aluminum gear housing for long life.
Love it!,

"I never thought that one of these would work as good as they do. I got one and it is one of the handyest things I have. My wife has even used it and could not get over it. I think that every one should have one!"

GREAT QUALITY IMPACT,
January 22, 2008
By BENM73from Covington, KY
"I really like this impact gun. Dewalt makes great quality tools, we all know that, but you can get a Rigid impact with 450 ft. lbs torque for the same price. This gun has 345 ft.lbs, which is quiet a bit, but I would recommend checking out the Rigid before you buy."

Lots of torque,
January 21, 2008
By Toolbud
"Have used this tool on many different types of fasteners mainly automotive. It has the power and torque of an air gun. A little big in tight places. If you don't have an air supply handy, this is the power tool to use. A lot cheaper than the battery versions. Great tool!"

Little or no impact,
January 21, 2008
By Jutiefrom New York
"Purchased this wrench to maintain the disc brakes on my Isuzu Trooper. The wheels are large and the lugs are tight. The first time I removed all 4 wheels, the wrench worked great. Twelve months later, I removed them again with no problem. The difficulty began when I tried to put the lugs back on. Several times I had to reverse the direction of the wrench to get it to engage. I managed to get them all back on after some fussing with the tool. The following Spring, I attempted some repair work again. This time the wrench was slipping in the removal process and it took several tries to remove each lug. Replacing the lugs required the traditional Hand Lug Wrench...the DEWALT does not replace lugs at all now, but will remove them with a bit of coaxing. Thankfully I kept my old hand lug wrench."

DW292 1/2in. corded impact,
October 30, 2007
By dad8563from Merrillville Indiana
"This is a great tool to have around. I have only used it on my car repairs without ever having a problem. It has plenty of power to spare & has never let me down. I like that I do not have to use the air compressor all of the time & that I can take it with me to other repair locations that do not have an air supply (friends & relatives). I would but another if this one were to break...Its that good !"

DW292K AC Heavy Duty Revesible Impact Wrench,
March 10, 2007
By TonyDfrom Charlotte, NC
"I listed this as DW292K in the title, which is what I bought, but it appears to be identical to the DW292; the K just includes a hard case. Gobs of torque. I have lots of experience with pneumatic impact wrenches, but I decided to keep it simple and purchase a single device, instead of maintaining compressors, hoses, etc. The power is very comparable to an air impact wrench, the delivery just feels different. I was initially concerned when I discovered that, after purchase, the AC plug was only two-pronged... so much so that I wrote in to technical support. They assured me that the tool is double-insulated, and therefore does not require a third "grounding" prong. Subsequent research on the internet confirmed that DeWalt was accurate in their saftey advice. At only 7.5 amp draw, this device kicks out a ton of power. If you will be in particularly nasty wet work areas, you may want to stay with pneumatic, although I must say that so far, in damp conditions, the tool has worked flawlessly, and safely. And I like not having to mess with the noisy, finicky, circuit-breaker-tripping air compressor."
