"I have to say, I regret spending money on this book. It was not worth the price. The information is very shallow and offers little actual construcion help. If you know the theory of 60/40 axle placement you pretty well know the entire book."

Buy a Set of Plans Instead!,

"I was hoping to find a book that would help me do exactly what the title suggests "How to Design and Build" a trailer. This book slightly delivers on the designing and completely fails to deliver on the how to build. It should have rather been titled "How to begin the design process and consider various components." I gave it one star because the book does not deliver what it suggests. I said I would not recommend it to a friend because the information that is does provide (info on components) can be obtained by searching the websites and catalogs of various trailer supply companies. I found volume 2 more useful, but there is nothing on design and it is a bit technical. Mostly, vol. 2 helps you to consider if your trailer design is adequate for your specific application. It investigates how the load and other forces affect the trailer, material choice, weld strength and few other similar items. Overall, if you just want to build a trailer buy a set of plans. I should say that I do not know the quality of the plans sold by Northern Tool, but I know I wish I had spent to on the plans rather than nearly on these books."
