NIT Chop Saw - 7 inch,
December 1, 2006
By MikeC

"I bought this primarily to work with golf clubs, and it's great. The clamp for miter cuts works really well, and makes the process very simple. Plenty of power, clean cuts, easy mitering. If you want a small saw for this type of work, you can't go wrong with this one."

Good saw but blade supplies a problem.,
August 14, 2008
By JHPINLA

"I bought the Northern Industrial Chop Saw — 7in. Dia. to use cutting shafts when making golf clubs. I needed a compact, cheap, chop saw for my home workshop. This saw has been excellent and I am very pleased with it with one exception. The smaller saw blade (7 in) uses the arbor size of larger (14 in) saws at 7/8 in size instead of the more standard 5/8 in for this size of blade. This means that you need to keep plenty of blades available as they are almost impossible to buy locally if you run out. Mail order, in non-industrial quantities, appears to be almost exclusively from Northern and takes too long if you run out unexpectedly. Overall this is a good buy but you must anticipate blade usage, which is fairly high."

Northern Industrial Chop Saw,
July 19, 2008
By toolmakerinparadise

"this is a great little chop saw but the blades are trash 10cuts on 1/4" cold roll stock and they were history. spent days finding 7" with 7/8th arbor found Dewalt makes blades to fit and I just cut 120 of 3/4" bars in less then a hour can't get better then that. for small stock this is the best saw for money you can get. just be ready with other blades. they are very hard to find."

"I use this saw every day and have never had any problems.I have priced this saw before i purchased it from northern and couldn't believe how much cheaper the price northern had it for compared to other stores with the same saw.I would strongly urge anyone looking for this saw,you will not get the same quality saw at any other store for this price."

Good Saw For the Money,
October 29, 2007
By chops2

"I purchased this small chop saw to cut some garage door brackets (thicker stuff) for the money it works fine. Not sure exactly how big of steel this baby would cut, but my guess would be bigger/thicker then I could weld together."

Small Project Help.,
July 9, 2007
By JackFrost17
|
"I got this for making seat frames for my off-road buggy. It was fantastic. The only drawback is the cut-off wheels; they're a little too thick, at 1/8" thick, they don't cut through the material, rather they grind through it. If Northern went to a 1/16" thick wheel, or even better, a .045" thick wheel, I'd be right in line."
