MANUAL CHAIN GEAR HOIST,
August 18, 2008
By MADMAX01

"I RECENTLY BOUGHT THIS MANUAL HOIST FOR MY NEW GARAGE WORK SHOP FOR LIFTING MY ATV AND RIDING LAWN MOWER TO CHANGE TIRES ON ATV OR CHANGE THE CUTTING BLADES ON MY RIDING MOWER FOR MAINTENANCE. ALSO I WILL USE IT TO HOIST ANY DEER I SHOOT THIS FALL TO SKIN THEM AND TO FILET STEAKS AND ROASTS TO PUT IN MY FREEZER FOR THE WINTER. I LIVE UP ON SIDE OF A MOUNTAIN IN WV AND DEER VENISON IS A GOOD SOURCE OF MEAT FOR THE COLD WINTER MONTHS. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND USING THIS MEDIUM SIZE MANUAL HOIST FOR ANYONE LIVING IN THE MOUNTAINS OR ALSO TO DO THEIR MAINTENANCE ON THEIR EQUIPMENT."

"The hoist was exactly as represented in the catalog. I have been using regularly to lift riding lawnmowers for service and repair and have really liked the ease of handling. I have purchased several items from Northern Tool and have not been disappointed with anything. They have all been great."

Performs as Advertised!,
November 16, 2006
By Enercon
from Atlanta, GA
|
"This is a good example of the old basic chain hoist that has been around for ages. As noted above, this one performs as advertised, lifting smoothly and with little operator effort. It seems to be pretty well built and should last anyone a long, long time. My only complaint is that it is coated with a truly nasty "grease", which I assume was added to prevent rusting during shipment. This also tells me that the quality of the steel might leave a little to be desired, but it doesn't seem to effect the hoist's performance. Just be sure to have some really good soap ready or wear some disposable gloves when you handle it!"

Chain Hoist-1 Ton,

"Chain hoist workes just dandy. It allows me to raise front-end of lawn tractor high enough to hose-off the underside of my deck without removing the deck. I can raise or lower lawn tractor with just one hand. Once up it stays where I stopped. It doesn't slip or anything."
