"I bought this to drill fence posts where a tractor cannot access. It's light enough to carry around on a 4wheeler and by hand, I just wish it has a bit more power and a better throttle mechanism. I am running the 10" auger so I realize that is a big load - but raising it up and down to keep it spinng is a big energy drain on the user. The throttle is a bit awkward to open and hold the handle at the same time. I would prefer that a trigger be mounted on the handle instead. All in all, I'm glad I bought it and will continue to use it (much better than by hand) - just wish it had more power and a trigger."

"Recently many of my outdoor power tools were stolen from my barn. I have now replaced them all with better alternatives with the exception of the 9000E; I bought the exact replacement. I use this unit to bore 8+" holes for fence posts and for planting trees/shrubs in rocky clay with lots of roots. It does well in these conditions; however, hold the unit away from your body otherwise you'll get whacked when you come in contact with large roots/rocks and the unit kicks-back."

"I was alway's afraid to buy one but i did after i rented one the 4 stroke engine has alot of power and im used to a two man auger i drilled (64) 3"ft.deep 8" dia. post holes in 3 hours by my self ! this thing is no joke !"

"I have been using this tool in my landscape business for about 15 years. I am on my second unit so these things last under commercial use, if well taken care of. I use a 6 in. and 10 in bit for 1 gallon and 3 gallon containers. It makes short work of drilling hundreds of perfect sized holes and allows a 2 man crew to knock out a sizable job in one day. This is a moneymaker!
It is a little labor intensive, but the speed makes up for that. Whether you are doing fenceposts, putting in plants or anything else, this little one man unit will put the holes in the ground in short order. It is very cheap for the amount of work it will do. I highly recommend it to anyone, assuming you have a good strong back!"

"the motor itself is good..... quick starting...fair amount of power..... the problems are.... the trigger broke on the first use... the kill switch doesn't work... I just think it could have been money better spent"

"We ordered this product to simply dig holes in our clay soil. we were able to plant trees, set fence posts and even do a proper burial for our beloved cat. It was easy for us to use and we would highly reccomend this product to others who live in clay soil areas."

"I have 29 acres and needed to put in quite a few fence posts. Since I am 78 years old, I can no longer dig these holes by hand. So I purchased my earth auger & 10" bit to do the job. The unit I purchased is for a one-man operation and it worked extremely well. In addition to post holes, I found the auger works great making holes in preparation for planting some trees. I highly recommend this unit to anyone who has similar tasks to do."

Hard Break In,

"I got my auger in fine shape and set up exactly as the manual stated. Not much to it! But I found that it was extremely hard to start and keep running. There's also a break in period you must run the machine before really using it as you intend. I bought this machine as reviews I read on the one with the smaller engine weren't that good and stated this is the one to get. I would not do it again and regret buying it."

"Needed auger to set 28 poles for grape vines. This unit worked fantastic! Was a little hard to start but would churn through the dirt and rock. Actually broke a bolt on the auger bit (8") itself! Would recommend this for the homeowner that needs to set posts, it works!"
