Choose between AC or DC output to expand your welding options. The LX 235 AC/160 DC has a maximum of 235 AC and 160 DC weld output. Smooth DC weld performance with easy arc starts is easily adjusted with the Accu-Set infinite amperage control. Weld time also increases up to 100% with decreased output, with the Accu-Set infinite amperage control. Less spatter and greater control on thin materials plus easier out-of-position welding. U.S.A.

Real do-it-yourselfers WELD!,

"This is a super welder. We wanted something portable but not limited to 230 volts in case that was not available. The AC/DC option also lets you weld with extreme accuracy. According to the instructions there is also a wire welding uplift option. This covers ALL the bases. I strongly recommend getting the wheel package for added mobility."

Hobart AC/DC stick welder,
January 21, 2008
By ldannyfrom Warsaw, Indiana
"This welder is an excellent product except for one short coming and that being that the welding cables are too short. It would be useful if they were 4 ft. longer. That is the only reason it didn't get 5 stars."

Hobart Stickmate Welder LX235 AC/DC - Great!!,
October 18, 2007
By TheHeartGuyfrom Midland, MI
"I'm very pleased with my Hobart Stickmate AC/DC LX235 welder. It's an excellent choice for those who enjoy the operational and setup simplicity of a stick welder with the solid quality that Hobart builds into the machine. All of the settings are clear and dialing in the desired amperage is a snap. I particularly like the option of having DC (both polarities) available, because as any welder knows, nothing welds as nice and smooth as a good DC arc, which is why I chose the LX235 AC/DC over a cheaper buzz box. Its small size and relatively light weight make it easy to tote about if need be. All in all, I must say that this is a well-constructed, solid piece of equipment that I'll be using for many years to come. Highly recommended."

"The stick machine works as described, welds very good .I really like the portability of the welder. I use it on home projects that are not inside my shop. It saves me from dragging out my heavy mig welder and gas cylinders."
