"This is my first experience using a plasma cutter. The cutter works as advertised. Easy to use straight from the box. The Plasma cutter is very useful for yard art and farming task . I also like the portability aspect of the cutter. I can carry it from job site to job site fairly easy. This plasma cutter has been a great investment and addition to my shop. For anyone doing light to medium work this is the cutter to have."

Plasma cutter,

"I have always wanted to own a plasma cutter as i do a lot of metal fabrication and welding. This is the most useful tool i have bought thus far. It cuts from thin gauge metal to 1/2" stock with the same ease. It is a big machine in a small package. I hooked my air to it and went to cutting right away. Another good thing about it is the fact that i saved over 0 by buying it from Northern, None of the competition could touch this price."

"only have tested it out once on 1/8th inch steel but it worked great. the 115 v plug that it came with is not the typical household 115 v outlet style... its another 115 v plug style for higher amperage. i made a pigtail adapter to run it to the standard household style outlet"

Plasma Cutter,

"The Hobart 400 is my first plasma cutter so I have nothing to compare it to. Being a retired handyman I was surprised that it was as simple as taking it out of the box and starting to experiment with cutting. No assembly required whatsoever. While I have considerable to learn about using it, it is so easy to use that I will be creating opportunities to experiment. We definitely could have used this tool when I was growing up on the farm. Definitely a good tool for the serious handyman or professional."

Hobart Plasma Cutter,
July 9, 2007
By ricksfabrcation

"As a custom aluminum fabricator I must be on the money with my cuts. Using the straight line and circle roller guides can make perfect detailed cuts each time. The Hobart plasma cutter is the only machine that allows me to cut aluminum other than a circlular or jig saw. Aluminum and stainless are very touchy materials to fabricate and weld; the Hobart plasma cutter has made my work more economical, quicker & more precise. I strongly recommended this piece of equipment to anyone needing a very exacting way to cut material. Rick"

PLASMA CUTTER,
February 15, 2007
By GunnerG

"I've only seen these cutters on tv, never used one before. How sweet it is!!! Even a beginner can use this thing, beats the heck out of a cutting torch or the 'ole' hack saw. I installed this on a small trailer along with my welder for mobility and it completed my set up. Very simple to use, no slag to deal with and the heat is kept to a minimum (no distortion on thin materials). If you can free hand a design, it's just as easy to free hand the cut, or even use a straight edge for the longer cuts. This is a 'must have' for the pro, handy man or even your spouse who happens to be a budding artist."

"This item worked like a charm and wouldn't trade it for anything. I've got to say Hobart is making quality products and would recommend them. I have a Hobart wire feed welder also and since I've purchased it my Lincoln has been collecting dust.
thanks"
