Ingersoll Rand Electric Portable Air Compressor,
January 28, 2008
By 1100from Texas, of course!
"This compressor has been a great working machine that is very quiet and robust for a 110v machine. I bought a floor model at NT and discovered that it did not work after getting it home. I spoke with Ingersoll-Rand support the next morning and we determined that the electric motor was faulty. Upon determining this, IR overnighted another motor to me and I had it in hand the next afternoon. After a quick swap, the machine has worked great. The faulty motor keeps me from giving the machine a 5 star rating but the great support from IR deserves 6 stars."

Great but expensive,

"I feel this compressor is a high quality unit. It will take care of all my personal needs that I will need it for. It is TOO expensive and possible other ones may be as good with a lot lower cost."

High Quality Homeowner Air Compressor,
January 21, 2008
By TNINfrom Newtown, PA
"This oil lubed air compress has very good quality, and I don't have any doubt that it will last a long long time if appropriate care is given. It powers a 1/2 inch impact gun without any sweat, and its big tank helps a lot by reducing cycles to the minimum. The customer service from Ingersoll Rand is also great. The belt driven continuous duty pump has thousands hours service life designed in, and the overall unit noise is also quite low, comparing with those units either direct motor driven or without requiring oil. The only surprise is the unit's weight, quite heavy. But that's a sign of its good quality, no cutting corner on materials."

"I have used many air compressors in the past and this one is by far the best. It is very easy to maneuver, the air recovery is quick, and it is quieter than I thought it would be. I believe this product is well worth the money."

A good product, but with limitations,
January 16, 2008
By CarBuilderfrom SFV, CA
"This is the compressor I bought for my house to work on the car I'm building in my garage (I used to work in a race shop).
Pros: * This compressor is v-e-r-y quiet. You could turn it on at night and your neighbours won't complain about it (though most air tools are loud enough that your neighbous will still have something to complain about...).
* It runs on 110V, which means that you can plug it in anywhere,
* If you need a solid compressor to do carpentry work with you'll love this thing. I've used it on occasions with two nailers running at once and it didn't miss a bit.
Cons: * Lacks the power to run heavy consumers like grinders or sanders. for the same $$$ you can buy the 3 HP 220V model and get double the CFM.
* Even though it has wheels it really isn't that mobile, especially if you try loading / unloading it off a truck by yourself. I bought the IR twin hot dog compressor to take to work if I need, the garage mate is too big and too heavy for that. For moving it around the shop it's okay.
Overall: A solid product for those who don't have high air demands, sized right for the garage.
Wishful thinking: IR offering a similar sized compressor but a bigger punch."

Excellent value for the money,
November 2, 2007
By CoconutJimfrom North Carolina
"This air compressor was way more than I wanted to spend but well worth it. It is quiet, efficient and built tough. I used it extensively with a variety of air tools and was never short of power. It delivers 5.7 CFM at 90 PSI which is not enough for some tools so make sure your application is appropriate. The support team at Ingersoll were also excellent when I had a question. Get the starter kit to extend the warranty!"

Workhorse,
October 29, 2007
By JackNfrom Glen Mills, PA
"I have this compressor working continuously, 24/7, at maximum pressure to power a vortex cooler. It was simple to set up, is relatively quiet running, and shows no signs of overheating. I look at it every day and it appears to only need what the factory wants as preventative maintenance. It was a great choice for my application,"
