Could be Better,

"I installed two of these in my tool trailer so that I could lash down semi-frequently hauled stationary tools. I desired the lower profile of these tie downs over others on the market because I often have to slide tool boxes over the installation area. The problem with installing them in the 3/4" plywood floor of my trailer was the bolt holes are too close to the ring hole that has to be cut in the floor leaving very little plywood left to anchor the tie down. I felt obligated to run a backup piece of plywood underneath the floor, this entailed an extra trip to the hardware store to purchase extra long carriage bolts to facilitate this. While now installed, and I am confident they'll serve their intended purpose, it seems to me a larger flange with wider spaced bolt holes or a smaller ring would be an improvement. Any recommendations I make for these tie downs will include a caveat about the under-sized flange. There are other tie-downs in my trailer that were easier to install but they do have a higher above floor profile."

S-Line Recessed Floor and Wall Tie Down Ring,

"Needs a big hole to install, but nice to have flush on the trailer. Seems great, but the test will be how it holds up to time, a load and weather."

Recessed Floor and Wall Tie Down,
October 8, 2007
By ditchdoctorfrom Huntsville, AL
"Outstanding product for the price. I priced them locally at a trailer supply house and they were .00 + tax. Even with the shipping I paid they were less than the local price. They installed easily by using a 3" hole saw to provide the recess needed to install them in the 2x8 flooring of the trailer I own."

"Mounting holes are 3"x3 1/4", cutout needs 13/16" deep and 3"x3" square. Sheet metal is 1/8" thick. Tie down ring is cast & opening protrudes 1 1/8" above bracket when ring is lifted. I mounted mine directly over the frame of my trailer, thus using the frame as the anchor point and not just the plywood flooring. Before this thing breaks, the trailer will tip over."

Tie Down,

"These tie downs are very strong and heavy duty. I was surprised at the thickness of the steel plate and ring. I mounted them in the bed of my flat bed truck with 3/8 bolts. I am well pleased with these tie downs."

Inexpensive Tie down with function and looks,

By JTB1from Idaho
"Works very well, inexpensive and is fairly easy to install. Cutting recessed hole is a little difficult to clear bolt for the ring and to still have enough material in the floor to hold the tie down securely."
