"It's just not possible that they test these before they get boxed up. One of my wheels was so out of balance that it bumped up against the side guard keeping it from spinning at all. Customer service was good as they shipped another right away but same story, just not as out of balance as the last grinder. At this point I will see what is available at the local hardware store and see what I can find for new wheels. I will probably not buy house brand from northern again... as would rather spend the extra money on a name brand product that's tried and trued."

"This grinder is a decent grinder for the price in which one pays. But there was one problem when they sent it to me. They sent it with a wheel that was not balanced properly, so i had to go and bye a new wheel which was a hassle. But it is a decent grinder."

"This is a good bench grinder for the home hobbist, but would not acceptable for daily use. The motor turns the grinding wheels OK, but I mounted a wire brush that loaded it too much. The 8" Dewalt is also rated at 3/4 hp but seems to have much more torque with the wire brush. Overall worth the price, but opt for the Dewalt or Baldor if you want a professional quality machine."

"This is about as good of a grinder as you can get for the money. Most 8' grinders are twice the money and have no better warranty. It is not as powerful as I could use, but it has been adequate for my work. I have a small auto shop so time will tell for me. It should be fine for the average person."

"It is a very high speed grinder, lots of power and stones are very good. Only problem I had was when I first turned it on it had a terrible vibration in the right wheel so I unpluged it and removed the stone, the washer was not installed correctly and the shem was too thin. I placed another one in its place and tightened it down and it now runs smooth. Very good product ....... but someone didn't check it out before it was shipped. Thanks, The Circuit rider."
