"I live in the fine state of North Carolina, for weeks in the month of May, 2007 I could watch the ground rise under my feet, trails being made, my yard looked like a battle zone. I took the advice of several people and went to my local Yard and Garden stores, I picked up several types of mole repellent, needless to say these products did not work at all. While on my way home from doing some shopping, my wife saw a new Northern Tool & Equipment store that had just opened a few miles outside of Greenville, NC. While checking out the great sales in the store we picked up one of the 8ft windmills. When I got home I saw a box that the UPS left on my back deck, inside the box was 2 mole Chaser Windmills that my wife had ordered online from Northern Tools.
I spent a few hours on the next Saturday morning setting the three windmills up. I have one acre of land and the house sits in the center, I placed one windmill at the rear of the property and one on each side. The windmills that were placed on each side, I drove a ten foot galvanized pipe about three feet of the pipe into the ground and then mounted the windmill. Guess what, these windmills worked. In two days I had no more new trails, so I went around the property stepped down on all trails I could find and gave my yard a good watering, to this day I have no "MOLES""

voles are gone,
October 19, 2009
By betula

"I purchased 2 mole chasers this summer after being unsuccesful with solar mole stakes. the small windmill's started working right away because I live in a fairly windy area. I had bought my house in the winter when the yard was covered with snow. When spring came and the ground was exposed I was horrified at the sight of mounds of soil everywhere in the yard. My dogs were going crazy digging at the piles of dirt trying to catch whatever was down in the ground. I still hav'nt seen what it is that is making these tunnels, neighbors say they are voles. Whatever they are, they have moved far from the windmills. They are still on the far edges of grass. I plan on purchasing a few more of these mole chasers to drive the creatures further away."

Moles don,t mind,
October 19, 2009
By bbudbob

"Like most tools to chase away unwanted animals, they only work for a while. Animals can get used to any thing over time and that seems to be the case with these. They do make great lawn ornaments tho. You can see wind direction and velocity, I enjoy seeing them."

mole problem solved,
October 19, 2009
By DRHR

"I had a real mole problem my property was riddled with mole trails and holes. They had gotten into my garden and my lawn was ruined. I was skeptical at first. I thought it couldn't be this simple but it was. I installed 2 windmills on my property and in about two weeks all the moles were gone. This product works!"

My moles love it,
July 21, 2009
By Beejay

"After reading the reviews I thought I had the answer to my prayers. I bought two of the Mole Chaser Windmills about a month ago, and the moles seem to love them. There is one tunnel in a circle around one of them. I'll leave them up since one reviewer said it took months for them to go away. My neighbors really like my windmills, but they don't know what they are for. I am hoping my moles will go to their house!"

It Really Works - Like Magic!,
July 17, 2009
By BoBuck
from Morro Bay, CA

"On the other side of my backyard fence are thousands of acres of open range... California Foothills, Farm Land, Avocado Orchards - in two words, Gopher Heaven (oh, and the view too).
I purchased the Windmill, got a 10 foot 1/2 inch galvy water pipe, put it two feet in the ground, I also used lock nut washers on the 3 nuts and 2 screws, covered the many many gopher holes, and no more gophers - Like Magic!
The day before the gophers were using my yard as party central, and from the day I put the Windmill in the ground there are no new holes, and nothing for my cat to do except for her usual six to eight hour power nap.
It is a well made product, and with the addition of the lock nut washers, it is one that will last a long time. At 8 feet above the ground it is high enough above everyones head, plus for me, I have ocean wind (oh, and that view too) from the front of the house, so I placed the Windmill where it gets wind from every direction."

Moles B Gone,
April 7, 2009
By oneacregardener

"After trying (without success) battery-operated & solar in-ground 'chasers' I bought 3 of Northern's windmills and placed them within about 30 feet of each other. Initially, they stirred up the mole/gopher activity. A few months into use we watched, over a period of say 10 days, as a mole/gopher dirt pile appeared EACH DAY down the hill ... farther & farther away from the garden! I'd say they'd had just about enough of this noise! Now, we see no new activity in the lawn or garden areas. Today, I'm ordering 2 more for a new raised bed I just planted that's closer to the house and too far from the other 'chasers', simply as a precaution. We took other reviewer's advice about adding the washer and will likely give them a shot of lubricant soon. I've recommended this product to numerous others. Good value given the results and compared to other more costly, less effective products."

Gophers and Deer,
February 16, 2009
By ARepairGuy
from Castle Rock, Colorado

"I have installed three with more on order. Hopefully none will fall apart like a few of the other reviewers. I installed them about 15-20' apart to discourage the gophers. Like others I have tried drowning, poison, gum, traps, battery operated mole/vole chasers. The Mole Chaser Windmill seems to work the best so far. Side benefit for me has been the deer don't seem to like them either. I have had constant damage to tree's and bushes on our property from the deer. It's been over a month since I put them in the yard and I have not seen a deer in the yard since. Previous to the wind mills I've had as many as 20 at a time grazing on our bushes. Hopefully they won't get use to them."

January 15, 2009
By NDOMinnesota

"I bought 2 windmills and after one night, I had more tunnels under my windmill than before I put it up. Any suggestions for me from those who had this thing work? I have not gotten rid of any moles and maybe I put up wrong. Please help me!"
