"Excellent value, superior quality. Two neighbors with established purple martin colonies stopped by to admire these gourds and ask where we bought them! I priced gourds locally and found Northern Tools' price is lower, even after adding shipping and handling. The gourds are roomy, sturdy, easy to clean and the birds LOVE them! Minimal assembly required (no tools necessary). Excellent with the hanging gourd bracket and telescoping steel pole. Very highly recommended."

Great Martin Gourds,

"We put some gourds out this year and they were almost immediately occupied by Purple Martins. What an amazing sight, at least two Martins per gourd. All but one of the gourds had active nests. Due to hectic schedules we did not get to watch the young learn to fly.
Next year we will be purchasing some more gourds. The gourds are easy to hang and easy to open and check the status of the nest. Purple Martins do not seem to mind having the nest cavity opened once or twice a week. I cannot think of anything we would change about the gourds. Good product, highly recommended.
A huge thanks to Northern Tool for the awesome service getting us our first order of gourds. Northern Tool has provided us with excellent service on each and every order. Highly recommend this product, and from Northern Tool too (best price and service available). We will be back in the spring for another batch of gourds."

"I give this product 5 stars. It is excellent. I bought and mounted six gourds. I used three round holes and three half holes. Starlings started to use the round holes so I changed all to half holes. No more starlings. The martin's actually preferred the gourds to the barn under which the gourds were mounted. Great product. If I had more martins, I would be happy to get another full set."

"This gourd is inexpensive, well constructed, simple to assemble and meets all my expectations and more. My martins use them first time out this spring. All my gourds are 100% Big Po. Tip: drill more drainage holes in the bottom to keep nesting material dry and trim off flashing from original drain hole."

"As a park host for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers I volunteered to establish a martin colony on our lake campground. Concluding from your catalog which I obtained from a friend that you seemed to have the best products at the lowest price, I ordered your Martin House gourds. I have never been more satisfied with a purchase. It was easy to order, you shipped when you said you would and I got a product even superior to what I had hoped. Local friends who have martin colonys made from natural gourds and wood were eager to examine mine and help me assemble them. Mine were up and ready in a couple of hours. Theirs took days to cure properly, cut, mount and paint. Thank you for a great buy. I'll order more and I'm certain my friends will also."
