"I bought this item to cut non-ferrous metal sheet for use in jewelry and knife production. I've used more expensive german made shears and this one definitely holds up well. I don't think I would use it to cut half inch steel rod like the description says but overall it is perfect for my needs."

"Certainly was not what I was looking for. It may cut quarter inch thick sheet metal or carbon steel, but not for long. I question whether it can really cut 7/16th inch steel rod. If it can, it won't last long. Not worth the purchase as I expect the product I buy to last for years; this is not it."
