"I purchased the 2 Ton chain hoist to assist on a job where we contracted to remove three existing 75 HP motors with pumps about 5000 lbs. each and replace them with three 150 HP motors with pumps about 10,000 lbs. apiece. The pumps were down three levels inside a building at a municiple waste water plant.
I dismanteld the pumps, motors and associeated piping to lighter pieces for handling. With the use of the two ton chain hoist, eyebolts, cable pullers and overhead beam and trolley, I was able to maneuver the old equipment out and the new equipment in.
When you have 3000 lbs hanging and moving it through a building you need to put a lot of trust in tools your using to move it. Your not only concerned about damaging a $160,000.00 pump that takes months to get , but you don't want anyone to get injured.
It's so critical that every link in the chain hoist is of superior strength and that the braking mechanism work properly to ensure optimum safety. It's also critical that none of the links hang up as your moving the equipment up and down. The two ton chain hoist worked very well. I never had a problem with it and I used it to 85% of it's capacity. I did have to keep an eye on the nuts that held the housing together. With all the vibration of pulling on the chain, the nuts had a tendency to loosen and fall off even with the lock washers.
I used the two ton chain hoist extensively on this $200,000.00 job over a 6 month period with no down time caused from the hoist. It truly paid for itself many times over because of how dependable it was, how well it worked and how many backs it saved. I would highly recommend it to anyone"
